Now before ya'll west coast niggas try whining and bitching read the rest of this post first. Back even before the Black Panthers fell apart in Cali New York had large sections of the city under control of different gangs. With so many immigrants coming into the city (especially during the Depression) and large ghettos being formed it was pretty much natural for groups of people to ban together to protect themselves and their hoods. Even during the 80's and early 90's when LA was getting mad press for the Blood and Crip shit, New York still had their own gangs like The Black Spades and The Deceptaconz. New York during the late 80's and early 90's was a warzone. Nowadays, not so much. These days NYC is mostly a bandwagon city. There are thousands of niggas out there looking like clowns, disrespecting the real NYC gangstas by copying what they see on Colors and Boys in the Hood. Not to say that theres no real gangstas in New York but the majority are false flagging. LA gangbanging basically revolutionized gangs across the country.
