Peeps can't move from one of those endz to another and many of those crews can come together under their postcode banner, like crews from E8 (ie Fields) rep Fields and E8 (but beef with Holly ST who also rep E8) or crews from E5 against E9. Most clicks used to be under umbrella of Hackney Man Dem, but have splintered into estate/area/postcode crews. Crews are often broken up into 'Older' crews' and 'Younger' crews.

Sadly, its all too real.

Just last week or so in South Hackney, boys drove past a bbq full of young ones and the four boys in the car wearing balaclavas pumped bullets into the party, shooting three boys. Its an everyday thing.

Interesting question, but I think the old school firms and streetgangs don't cross paths as far as i know - the firms as far as I know are mainly white, organised, suited and booted like businessmen and its a crime thing and so like mini mafia's, they would wish to be underground, though they have their own version of bling still - run boxing clubs, strip bars and the likes A family tree from the Krays and old timers. Firms are more linked to organised crime - old crime families, or old school types from the time of the Krays who've become like 'consultants' to newer firms. Streetgangs here are unorganised, nothing like the numbers of the stateside gangs and stay very local to their home yards in the main. And involved in street stuff, shotting and dealing, making life a misery for local residents living in fear of them and beefing with rivals. Very different things.

cheers noog... yeah i kinda thought that would be the case.a fair few of the people in firms would be fairly normal members of mainstream society as well as loving punching on on the weekends. im a big fan of the idea of firms, im sure there are less glorified points that im not aware of, but it seems the most honarable way to fight in a gang these days. i like the fact its an agreed upon thing you know? they all know what they are getting them selves into when they rock up on the away games.

Here in Hackney (East London) we have too many gangs - made up of younger crews (under 18's) and olders (over 18 up to 30's). In the 90's, Hackney crews came under a borough alliance simply known as HMD, Hackney Man Dem, but splintered into area/post code crews since then who beef aggainst each other but can form alliance in beef with crews outside of Hackney i.e. TMD Tottenham Man Dem who have also splintered in the same way into many, many crews.
Younger crews are shaping the new gangmap in Hackney and London generally.

Feared gangster shot dead in revenge street execution

A feared gangster was chased and repeatedly shot in a street execution, a court heard today.

"Marcus Cox, 25, was shot repeatedly at close range in a revenge attack, the Old Bailey heard. Two months earlier he had robbed Syron Martin, 22, who became determined to "teach him a lesson", the jury was told.

Martin bought a gun and body armour and on March 5 last year saw Cox driving his BMW in Tottenham, north London. He gave chase only for Cox to leap from the car and run off on foot.

But Cox stumbled and fell to the floor - and Martin repeatedly shot him, holding the gun sideways in a Hollywood pose as he delivered the final bullet, said John Hilton QC, prosecuting.

After the shooting, Martin fled the country, taking a flight to Jamaica, the court heard. But on his return to the UK in November he was arrested.

Mr Hilton said that Martin does not deny being the gunman but denies murder, claiming he had been provoked by Cox's behaviour."

FOUR men were gunned down in five days as South London suffered a terrifying shooting spree.

A 19-year-old was blasted in the stomach outside a gym in Carew Street, Camberwell, in the early hours of Monday in what is thought to be case of mistaken identity.

Another man aged 38 was shot in the back outside Virgo's nightclub in Old Kent Road at about the same time.

Both were expected to recover.

Last Friday night a cyclist was shot in the knee as he pedalled through the Myatt's Field Estate, Brixton.

But amazingly the 20-year-old was able to cycle to hospital for treatment.


Cops probing the 11.40pm shooting are hunting a black man in a blue and white hooded top with long sleeves and jeans.


A day earlier a man was shot out-side a barber's in Madron Street, Walworth.


The 21-year-old was outside Klass barber's when he heard gunshots and turned around to see two hooded black men firing at him.


It was only when he had run into Old Kent Road and crossed the dual carriageway that he collapsed and realised he had been shot.


He was still in hospital this week having treatment for gunshot wounds to the abdomen.


The culprits - one in a black hoodie and one in a brown - sprinted off down Madron Street after the 7.20pm shooting. Detectives from Operation Trident have appealed for witnesses to the four unrelated attacks.


A police source said: "Four in five days sounds a frightening figure but the public should not be alarmed because the overall number of shootings has not risen in recent months."
