Glasgow is split into 2 types of gangs:
The "wee mob" the young people from the ages of 5 or 6 to 16 or 17. Their is NO REAL STRUCTURE. Nope no leaders no nothing. there is just a bunch of kids who fight with the rival gang or gangs (gangs in most cases) to see "who is the maddest". Its simply a measuremant of bravado to see who can hurt the other one or dominate them by walking through enemy territory being untouchable.
The Players. These are no ordinary cats. there is no real affiliation with areas or territories its about who you know, what your know. They generally have contacts from all over the UK and tend to be illegitimate business men. IE Trafficking guns, drugs and in a lot of cases women. The big time players often try to associate with someone further up the "ladder" than themselves. The ladder is basically gaged by pulling power (how many people work for them), the amount of money they have (in both legitmate enterprises and illegitmate ones).
Big time players. These are the top men. the guys that pick and choose who lives who dies. usually their is one for all the main areas. Southside (usually only 1 player), Eastside (can be a good few.. the east side of Glasgow is one of the most notorious places in the world for gang crime). West (very quiet neighborhoods), The North. can be some right bad yins from here.
There you have it: GLASGOW

Back in the day a movie came out called Terror of the Tongs, came from that started in the 60's, the REAL part came around start of 80's a think as a sort of registered trademark cause people started copying the name, calton is the original tongs.

back in the day the calton was alot bigger so they were different names for different places, n yes one was called Calton Entry Mob i dont know the excact year but i did found this from a site about the calton....
The Calton 'Entry'........ another Calton Gang .......who hailed from where else but 'Calton Entry'......If you wish to trace this location......The surviving stretch of the 'Entry' can be found between Stevenson Street West.... and Moncur Street.............near the Squirrel Bar and St. Alphonsus Chapel house residence..

They were called the Toi, or the 'San Toi', before they became the Tongs in the early 1960's and are the original Toi that other teams around Glasgow like Easterhouse, Blackhill, Toryglen, Yoker etc are named after. I'm not exactly sure where the Calton Entry Boys were fae, but I got telt they were fae Tollcross. Might be wrong on that but.
