South Side Whittier Gang member, Gabriel Ronquillo was convicted of two separate murders that were 5 years apart. He was convicted of a 1999 murder of rival gang member David Borunda at 11523 Whittier Ave while he was sleep in a car. Ronquillo was present but may not have been the trigger person. The police were not aware of this murder until he was overheard while in prison for the 2004 murder of Gary Frausto.
In 2004 Ronquillo he went to 13650 Busby Drive in Whittier, to the house of fellow South Side Whittier member and killed Gary Frausto by stabbing him several times. It is believed that he was supposed to kill Richard Frausto, his brother, who was falsely claiming to be a Mexican Mafia member.
The court claimed that Ronquillo stabbed the wrong person, maybe the brother's looked alike, but if this guy was a member of his own gang, I dont understand how he would make a mistake - maybe he was high.
In 2012, Judge Dewey Falcone sentenced Ronquillo to death.
