You act like its no big thing that they lose their lives. But God forbid a white kid gets shot? Come on dude. Trust me...some things you dont understand should be better left alone.

Why has this thread been hijacked the man post an article about a tragic shooting in liverpool and someone gotta say"well we get that shite all the time in the states".Facking stupid IMO.It aint no comp,and most people in england know that the american ghettos are crazy places for murders and gangs far crazier than the english inner citys.

A life being taken is a tragedy no matter what color. Thats the point.

Thats the bottom line - a child shot dead is a tragedy. Colour is nothing to do with it.

Just to set a few things straight - the areas of Norris Green and Croxteth ARE very deprived areas of Liverpool with long histories of social deprivation. The youngsters and children who are making up the ranks of the Strand Crew (the 'Nogzy') and the Croxteth Crew (the Crocky) are children of the crime families who have run the drugs business in Liverpool for decades now. Young Liverpudlians don't go much for cattin other gang styles and don't go cattin the South UK/London Man Dem gangs or Nothern UK Manchester gangs but have thier own identity and look and way of going about it. Ie those kids dress head to toe in black, including the ubiquitous black hoodie so as not to be identifiable to the 'Bizzies' (Police) as Scousers (Liverpudlians) call them. Liverpool is awash with drugs and guns, many firearms coming into Liverpool from Northern Ireland since decomissioning of the paramilitaries there.

Those child gangsters on the estates of Norris Green and Croxteth in Liverpool are in a simialr but different context to a kid being born and brought up in a gang neighbourhood in any US city, it just happens that in this instance the children happen to be white. We can see clearly then, that the ever decreasing age of kids with firearms isn't about ethnicity at all, but everything to do with social exclusion, of deprivation from the mainstream and of a lack of resources in a host community and the alternative cultures of crime to make paper.

I feel the pain of a child killed whether in LA, New York, London, Liverpool, Bahgdad, San Salvador, anywhere....

Maybe the intelligent conversation is about thinking about why the age of children using deadly firepower is decreasing?

The only reason this "happens all the time in america" is because
1. that america is about five times the size of the UK (population wise)
2. Because guns are legal in america

im suprised that the figure isnt higher cosidering that basically anyone can go and buy a gun in america
But considering the size scales of the U.S and U.K i would say that the UK is in a worse state now
new statistics out, a serious knife crime gets commited every 24 minutes in england
serious crime being a murder, mugging at knife point or just having a serious knife assualt
the UK is worse now for knife crime that the U.S and Mexico
Crime is dramatically on the increase with the Uk having one of the highest crime rates per capita in the world
not long before the UK becomes 3rd word
