Gang Vs Family

Unread post by RespectableCriminal » April 2nd, 2007, 11:40 pm

Many Gang members come from dysfunctional families, many come from families of gang members.

Many gang affiliates are reliant upon their gang connection to protect their families, others have no family outside of the gang.

In some cultures gang and family are the same word.

Which comes first to you and why?

Or is your gang your family?

Family always comes first, but there are people out there that promise to hold their gang first.

Family.Blood is thicker then water. You can stop being gangmember and stop being friends but you can't stop being family. You can't choose it,you are.

Yep there are organizations that expect that from what I have read, LCN and back in the time of the Knights Templar, they had to take an oath of Celibacy like monks.

Familiy always come first . . . but you gotta know when to put yours
on hold and be down with the Boys.

If your play or fusca is needed, then you can't say no . . . it just ain't
happening like that. If your Boys need you, then your duty comes first.
Now, if it comes down between your Familia and your Boys, then you
gotta chose, and I doubt very much that many would chose the Boys.

The case is not as simple as portrayed. If you got family that wants you
out of the gang because of where is leading you, I don't call that call
chosing between family and gang. That's just what happens to all of us.

I was referring to the idea that all gang members have no family that care about them or that they care about which is what I think is too simple a way to portray the situation.

I wasn't even thinking of family wanting someone out of a gang.

Good point though.

Thanks
