Is it possible to REALLY know someone over the internet?

This is the forum for those who believe that there are other options to gangs and violence and hope to see young people make better choices about their future. Where does change begin?

damn straight, people get surprised every day

Not to put anything out but there's another forum that just had a big falling out with someone, and the thing is, even the mutual friends and stuff they knew didn't even really know this guy. Some people got multiple personalities, most are just fake, and sometimes we gotta hide our real selves for whatever reason, like work. For example, a politician can't just walk up and say "sup muthaf*cka" to an opponent and a office manager can't come in to work sagging and flagging, he has to dress "professional."

Take a good look at any old Korean man that's at least 50 years old, most people don't realize 90% of Korea was banging in their generation. Some in "official" gangs and some in "school gangs" but now they try to be civilized but don't let that fool you they can still whoop ass.

Yup, you can never know a person over the internet, standard. For all the reasons cited. I wouldn't want peeps to know my identity because I'm a community person, a man who works for the betterment of my neighbourhood. So though I have love for gang members in my endz, I have no love for gangs but still don't want to be idetifiable - you know how it goes. Imagine mt ID was known - not so much on this site because its American, not British, but on our British equivalent, England Gangs, its important. If I were identified, it'd put me at risk if I had dissed a local gang on those boards. In Hackney people know each other or whos who seen. I'm one of the good guys, one who will always help young peeps to find another path, but even so, as I diss gangs (not an individuals worth, just the gang behaviours) I can't be id'd for good reason.

And yeah, my guess is that the boards are populated by kids, wannabes and fakes. There will also be a few bone fide voices from peeps who have lived the life and don't now (good to hear from, big up) and some who still live the life. My bet is more of the wannabe's though. I mean hell, the quality of discussion and arguement on these boards has gone soooo faaar doooown hillll! Baby talk mostly now!
