David Beckam, one of the best?
is David Beckham still one of the top soccer players in the world? I saw him on Snoops new reality show and it showed him striking goals from mid field. So I went to a soccer field the other day and tried to hit goals from mid field and it was harder than I thought.

Soccer as a sport is WAY harder then people think.alexalonso wrote:So I went to a soccer field the other day and tried to hit goals from mid field and it was harder than I thought.

Re: David Beckam
I never knew that people thought football (soccer) would be easy.... It's the most played game in the world, so it's way harder to be on top in football than in any other sports. There are so many others all around the world practising hard and wanting to be the best in the world. Best players make any trick or kick look like a child play, just like in any other sports. That's why they are the best.$outhPhillypuppet wrote:Soccer as a sport is WAY harder then people think.alexalonso wrote:So I went to a soccer field the other day and tried to hit goals from mid field and it was harder than I thought.
And about Beckham... Yes, he is still good. Not the best there is, but a really good player who could still play just about in any major team in Europe. I personally have never liked him, but I can't say he couldn't play football.

While at MUFC he was in the top 5 in the world and the best at what he did - pass and cross the ball and score freekicks.
But he is known for great passing..and sadly he needs somebody of worth to recieve these passes - LA Galaxy do not have those players.
All said and done, he comes over a decent man and maybe one day he will share his wealth with me.

Re: David Beckam
Isn't he known more for his looks and sense of style than anything else?

No he was a good player, played for Real Madrid and Manchester United, two of the biggest clubs in the world.stoked18 wrote:Isn't he known more for his looks and sense of style than anything else?
But he was always a marketable personality. Nowadays in 2012 he's just cruising through the MLS with the rest of Europe's state-side former greats like Marquez and Henry.
