Brock Lesnar new UFC Heavyweight Champ

Unread post by jboogie » November 16th, 2008, 2:37 am

Any of you see him K.O. Randy? I Give him credit and props for beating Couture (for some reason I thought Couture was gonna pull it out tonight). What do you guys think of him being UFC champ in only 4 pro fights. He's strong but I think he'll have short reign if he has to face the winner of Nog/Mir. Style wise submission specialists mean trouble for Brock cuz I don't think he's that well versed in the submission defense yet. We all seen what Mir did to him last fight (although I wouldn't be suprised if Brock does better against Mir if they fight again). And Big Nog is probably even better than Mir in submissions plus he has a world class chin/great recovery time and top notch cardio.

I agree that style wise Brock doesnt matchup well with Mir or nog but lesnar is so fuckin big and strong that it sometimes makes up for his lack of technique.
from the mir/herring/coture fights we should all know that his right hand is no joke either.
Add that with his calmer demeanor on the floor after the Mir submission i think his next few title defenses should be good.

This is the trick for the HW division. With the weight limit being 265 you can get quite a difference between 2 fighters. I'm not saying Brock is all about his weight but he definitely knows how to use it, and uses it well. I really didn't want to see Brock win the title, at least not so quick it kind of cheapens the name. I don't think he's paid his dues yet either. I wanted to see Nog vs. Couture first. I'm looking forward to a Nog vs. Brock fight now, as I don't see Mir beating Nog and I don't want to see Mir vs. Brock again.

lesnar is a great fighter peeps trust me,i follows mma for years never seen someone progressed as quickly as him...i even lost 65€ on this fight so I thought couture would have win
but unfortunately he has very little chance to beat big nog...
from the mir/herring/coture fights we should all know that his right hand is no joke either
goddamn right,soooo heavy hands
With the weight limit being 265 you can get quite a difference between 2 fighters
and yet lesnar cuts weight to make 265,the night of the fight he is at 275!while Couture is capable of cutting down to the 205 pound LHW division, anyway couture is a false HW
