Minister Farrakhan offers Gift of Guidance to Islamic conference

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan addresses the conference at Mosque Maryam in Chicago, IL. on May 23.(2004)

MOSQUE MARYAM (FinalCall.com) - “All that is happening in our world is causing us to check ourselves and increasing in our hearts a desire to come back to the purity of our faith,” explained the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, as he cautioned Muslims against compromising the principles of their religion for the sake of gaining so-called friendship with the West.

“Look at your condition. Don’t you think that you need somebody to straighten you out? How can somebody straighten out a world gone crazy and not have Divine backing? But if God has finished with prophets and messengers, then who will clear up the mess that’s in America, who will reform this and who can reform the world of Islam?” he went on to ask further during his three-and-a-half hour address “The Guide and The Guidance” which culminated the Third Annual Islamic Conference on the Seerah (Life) of Prophet Muhammad, which convened May 21 - 23.

The historic event called imams and SCHOLARS(EMPHASIS MINE) from across the country, England, Canada and Senegal together to dialogue on the significance of the birth, life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his effect on global peace.

“We thought it expedient for us to convene a conference at this time in order to study the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and what he represented, to try and derive some inspiration and guidance from his perfect examples in order to face the challenges and overcome the vicious attacks on Muslims all around the world,” said Sheik Ahmed Tijani Ben Omar.

One objective that emerged from the conference was the development of a think tank that would serve as a source of unity and strength to the world’s Muslim community in the face of the worldwide misrepresentation of Islam through U.S. media outlets and the war atrocities committed in Muslim countries.

Enlightening Experiences-

Beginning with Friday’s congregational prayer service (ju’umah) May 21, participants were enlightened from the khutbah delivered by Imam Dr. Mohammed El-Sharkawy, chairman of Al-Rahman Islamic Cultural and Religious Affairs of London, England. Dr. El-Sharkawy expressed through various hadith that, if Muslims were to follow the lead of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they would be able to learn how he handled the oppression and attacks of his enemies, allowing Muslims to better handle the situation the entire ummah, or Muslim community, faces now.

Rami Nashishibi, executive director of Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) in Chicago, called for Muslims who emigrate to America to be more proactive in spreading the way of Islam to all of humanity and not be secluded to one’s own sect or nationality.

“As a Palestinian, and more importantly as a Muslim, I couldn’t be concerned and conscious about what happens in Palestine and come home and be oblivious to the struggles and oppression going on in communities that I live in here,” he explained, adding that Muslims who open stores in various communities, selling items that contribute to the oppression of others, can be considered part of the “bloodsucker paradigm” prevalent in desolated areas throughout the United States.

Panelists (l-r): Dr. Malik Khan, Dr. Salaam, Prof. Abdul Haqq Godles, Dr. Jennah McGleshan, Dr. Nazar Ali Kianfar, Dr. Abdul Alim Shabazz, Rami Nashishibi, Dr. Mohammed Qadiri, Dr. Abdul Rashid Matthews and Sheik Ahmed Tijani Ben Omar (at podium), convener of the conference.
During panel workshops held the following day, Naimah Latif, teacher, television producer and co-author of “Slavery: The African-American Psychic Trauma,” delivered a spirit-filled oratory acknowledging the fact that America’s evils to citizens of other countries, particularly Muslim-dominated countries, may now be manifesting globally, but that Blacks in America know all too well these systematic injustices.

Dr. Jennah McGleshan, of Atlanta, Ga., delivered a speech on the “Psychology of a Closed Heart,” explaining how it occurs and that, if those who go through a tragedy in their lives are not careful, when the heart closes, the mind will follow.

The purity of faith

While the conference afforded panelists the opportunity to draw from their personal experiences in their efforts to unite and strengthen the ummah, the highlight of the weekend was Sunday’s address by Minister Farrakhan, when the beloved and respected Muslim leader captivated the attention and focus of an overflow crowd of guests and dignitaries. Nation of Islam mosques and study groups across the country watched and listened acutely via web cast as he outlined the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He also defined the differences in the work of a prophet and the Messiah, in that the Messiah represents the presence of God, while a prophet is sent to people in the absence of God.

“A prophet brings the wisdom of God in the absence of God. He comes into a darkened world to bring light. So, the prophet is like the moon. We know that the sun is shining because the moon, which has no light of its own, reflects the light of the sun. There is no prophet that has a light of his own. The prophet reflects the light of God to a people that walk in darkness,” he explained.

He infallibly illustrated where in scripture the audience could read the prophecies foretelling the Coming of Master Fard Muhammad, the Founder of the Nation of the Islam, and His raising up of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad as a Messenger to the Black man and woman in North America and the world, fulfilling the work of the Mahdi appearing with the Messiah at the end of the world.

“What a wonderful man, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but a man came to us, Fard Muhammad. I never met Him, but I know He came because of what He produced,” Minister Farrakhan said. “I don’t care what you know today, if you don’t have guidance, then you can’t apply what you know. But here’s a man that came in the midst of a world like this, He knew our condition, the state of our mind, a mind that had been destroyed under White supremacy.

“Many Muslims think that we, followers of Elijah Muhammad, should never mention Fard Muhammad” which would be like asking him not to honor his mother or father, he maintained. “Since none of you came to teach us, HOW DARE (EMPHASIS MINE) you ask us to reject a man that came 9,000 miles to teach us!” he chided, as the audience in the sanctuary erupted in an uproar of applause and cheers. “You rejected us, but Fard Muhammad accepted us in the savagery of our condition.”

“This is why you will NEVER(EMPHASIS MINE) take Him away from us—and don’t even try it,” the international peacemaker warned. “He said He was Mahdi, meaning ‘Guide.’ The Prophet said that Mahdi would come. Why would we need a Mahdi if we were still on the path? The Mahdi comes to guide us back to the path and show us how to get back to the purity of our faith.”

Positively Overwhelmed-

“I have heard him speak on these types of subjects all around the world, but this Sunday’s address was the most compre-hensive, articulate, uplifting and inspiring. All the leaders who came there were very, very much attentive and positively overwhelmed by the Minister’s speech and we thank Allah for such an exemplary leader among us,” shared Sheik Tijani. “He expressed comprehensive appreciation for the role that Master Fard Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad played in guiding members of the Nation of Islam from the early thirties up till now and transformed their lives and made them the shining example among the Muslim communities in the U.S. and around the world.”

On the question of the Identity of the Mahdi, Sheik Babikar Ahmed Babikar, Islamic director for the Islamia Schools Center in London, England, weighed in. “Only Allah knows, but it is my understanding that He will be from the West, because the saying of the Prophet is that the Black man will come from the West and that means the groups of people who will come to support the oppressed and help the Muslim nation, in general, will come from the West,” he opined. “I think the work is already being started by Elijah Muhammad and Louis Farrakhan has cemented that work. We who are awake now and alive upon the truth that we have should unite to show that there is unity amongst us. The Nation of Islam has the foundation of doing something that which will unite not just the Afro-American and Afro-Caribbean, but Muslims all over,” he added.

Ms. Latif echoed his sentiment, expressing her joy in gathering to share in the common understanding of the mission of Muslims to bring peace to the world. “I’m glad that the Minister got an opportunity to bring people in to observe the Nation, to observe many other Muslims, to observe how we have really pinpointed what the struggle is in this country. We’re fighting for the soul of this nation,” she told The Final Call.

“At some point, others from different nations will be willing to take our lead, because we are, in fact, leading them in this struggle; we are presenting the best example of how we are able to combine the struggle of Muslims and Christians and go beyond various sects and groups. I’m pleased to have been apart of that and hopefully, inshallah, the things that people heard will inspire them to be strong in their stance and not back down.”

On a practical note, Minister Ishmael Muhammad, assistant minister to Minister Farrakhan, expressed his desire to see the ummah not only discuss the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but roll up our sleeves and get busy doing the work the Prophet did in spreading Islam.

“The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan provides us with the best example of the life and mission of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it is clear that he, as an Islamic leader, has been the most successful in bringing together the various Islamic schools of thought and putting on the table an agenda by which the ummah can come together and heal some of the ills in the Islamic society,” he said. “I believe that our failure today in the Islamic world is that we fail to see and recognize a leader that God has raised from among us and inspired in him that which will make us much more successful and productive as an Islamic community.”

He added that he hopes and prays that the scholars of Islam will recognize the fact that Allah (God) is with Minister Farrakhan. “The masses of the people in the Islamic world, they already know, they already see, they already sense and they already feel that Allah (God) is doing something with their brother and Muslim family here in the West. But it is the leadership who is lagging behind their own people who already see that Allah (God) is with Minister Farrakhan,” he concluded.

Is this supposed to impress us in some way? Farrakhan's desire for power is truly endless. The nerve of this cult leader telling all the traditional Muslim clerics of the entire world they are all wrong and he is right. Power's his game and Fairycon is his name.

You can strive for all the purity you want but if it's a false religious system not based on factual truth then you are wasting your time. Islam teaches Muhammed was the last prophet but Farrakhan says oh NO, give me your submission, Elijah Muhammad was also a messenger being taught by God himself. Then they start to play semantics. They have to because no traditional Muslim who knows his religion is going to accept that Elijah supercedes Mohammed and no authentic Christian is going to accept his blasphemous redefinition of Christ's messiahship which is defined by Christ himself!

It's all a third party leverage attempt by one of the best snake oil salesmen in the business. You buying?

Yes the authentic scholars are aware of the truth and declare that neither you nor your master teach it. Your master and you can play all the politics you want with middle management "try to make all roads lead to the same place even though they don't and we support homosexuals in the clergy" far left liberal types but that won't bring you any closer to the truth. It's just the blind following the blind. Truth has very little to do with it.
