One time was a term started in LA in the 1980's. I remember hearing it as early as 1987-88...anyway, there are about 3 or 4 reasons why, but the most common answers were: look one time and run or all police were the same, whether it was local, state, feds or sheriff. One time=one gang or one organization....

let us not forget to call them 'dicks' short for detectives, as they are the only ones who really matter, other than the fuzz and regular five-0 and the narcs who can turn the heat up.
its funny cause the narcs in my town actually look like people i might hang out with, this one faggot has big ass earings, not blingy but captive ball gauged out, spikey hair really just looking like a normal white boy bracelets and all and his partnah is this damn little mexican who just looks like he is a neighbor or somthing cruising by, i caught his ass up when i was working TB drive through and he had his lil radio in his lap... double take almost got me caught up.

the term 5-0 comes from a old school t.v show called ''hawii 5-0'' 5-0 was a term that ment Police,the show started in the mid/late 70's.......the term ''1 time'' from wha I understand is it takes only ''1 time'' for you to get caught slippin and your ass is going to jail.....''Po-Po'' is a Bay Word that is short for Police ''PO-PO'' ....
