Of course I have been to an all black neighborhood. We have them here and in Buffalo. Unity Park, Center Court, Jordan Gardens ect. It's just that I thought that maybe it actually it IS like that or something. I know that the media makes it sound like you need AK-47's and grenade launchers just to buy milk and it's not true. I'm not dumb. I know.

AAAAHH HA HA HA HA!
You should mess with them and say something like "Yeah I got shot 5 times and stabbed 4!!" And wear an eye patch or something! That would really mess with someone! People think that I live in a super dangerous area. But that's only because they live in $200,000 houses! You can safely walk down the street and be perfectly fine. Put it this way. It is safe enough for 4 suburban kids to just walk down the street and be untouched. However if they go into the projects themselves they might have something said to them but that's it.

lol Ive thought of that too.tell them what they want to hear but at the same time it just feeds into the perception that people have of us.And your right it usually does come from people in the suburbs. They are "like why do you live there?" I just tell them well because i just do and why do you live where you live? then they just shut up.

once you get your ass beat to shit in one of those bad neighbor hoods, rob, stabbed shot or what ever,,, you'll understand what they are capable of. then you will have respect for them, like a child being burned by the stove,,, how many times does it take to learn that lesson?
what you gotta figure out is how to act and behave when your in a sketchy area, if your looking all flossy and flashy, some one that doesn't have it so good is probly gonna try somthing on you, but if your just chilling getting a dime bag or what ever not making a scene, your strait,
down on western and like 79th or somthing it was late as fuck i was high and out with my home boy, we went to one of these polish dog places that they always have the workers glued in behind some bullet proof glass,,, i got out and a couple miscrits looked over and moved towards the same place we were going when my homie turned and said "hey dawg, i dunno you might wanna get your bat or somthing"
now that shocked me, i got the bad and needless to say, i didn't get messed with.

LA is definatley over hyped by most of the media. at least LA in general. if LA was such a bad area, all the mainstream movie stars, singers, and ect. wouldn't be moving there.

How big are the blocks? How many houses? And how do they run? Because here the streets count up from the falls itself. Ex. 4th 5th 6th all the way up to 102nd street. But from the 40's to 50's it's all industrial plants. How many miles across is LA?

se11 move there first and THEN talk like you know about it. come on now. It would take you a long ass time to 'hike' from South Central to Beverly Hills.

What are the demographics for each area? I like neighborhoods that are mixed and have a lot of culture. I heard East LA is mainly hispanic and south central is mostly African-American.

LA's population is like 3 million isn't it? What are the actual raw numbers on people who live in the different areas?

If the Los Angeles five-county Destination Marketing Area (Los Angeles, Riverside, Ventura, Orange and San Bernardino counties) were a state, it would surpass all states in total population size with the exception of California, New York and Texas. The county of Los Angeles alone would rank as the ninth most populated state, just behind Michigan, with 9.9 million. Los Angeles ranks as the second largest city in the nation behind New York City.

New York City has a population of over 8 million people contained within 309 square miles

needless to say LA is fast paced - youre next to NY which is just as if not moreso high paced. so if youre moving homie youre damned if you do and damned if you dont. LA has better weather in my opinion

From where im at in South Central to BH maybe 30 minutes, if traffic is bad longer lol.Your right Beverly hills is a whole other world.

Purple City pretty much broke it down as far as demographics. As far as cultural.in Some parts of South Central like where i am its mostly Latinos with a few blacks, and very few whites, maybe 15 blocks from me theres quite a few cambodians in the projects. In other parts its more heavily populated by blacks.ELA is mostly Latino.Fairfax district which is closer to Hollywood there are alot of Jewish people. In Chinatown theres alot of asians.Theres a quite a mix in LA.LA is a Big county so theres alot of suburbs and other little cities within LA county, alot that are fairly mixed and some I guess that arent.

Parts of Long Beach are white blue collar dominated, but in LA itself I'd say wherever there aren't Mexicans Asians and Blacks. It's hard to pinpoint because there are a lot of white blue collar families spread out all through LA. Venice used to be like that before it got yuppied out. (American History X style), A lot in the Valley, a lot in the Westside. A lot of blue collar families will move out to Orange County Yorba Linda etc. Anaheim, Riverside, Simi Valley etc. Even farther out like Hemet etc.
