Iran Threatens US with Annihilation

A senior Iranian commander says the wave of Islamic Awakening in the region has narrowed down the United States’ geopolitical sphere of influence to the extent that “the slightest mistake” will spell the annihilation of the US.


The wave of Islamic Awakening and the recent developments in regional countries have forced the US to change its course; however, in case of the slightest mistake, they will undoubtedly be doomed to annihilation, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Wednesday.

“In the past years, the Americans’ overt objective was to gain control over the oil resources of the region…but their ulterior motive was to prevent the spread of the awakening of Muslim countries in the region,” Brigadier General Pourdastan added.

The commander noted that Iran is faced with a “sensitive and special” situation and stated that the US pursues hostile policies on the Islamic Republic because Washington believes that Tehran has played a leading role in the awakening of regional nations.

He noted that Iran's Islamic Revolution has provided a model for the wave of the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa.

Despite all sanctions, Iran has turned into a superpower in all fields and this is the reason that the enemies are mounting their pressure on the country, Pourdastan pointed out.


He added that the option of a possible military strike on Iran was on the enemies’ table but various maneuvers held by the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the Iranian nation’s presence in the scene and the guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei have changed the strategy of attack to sanctions.
