Why do Latino gangs put a "e" at the end of Compton?

Some times they pronounce it that way, so they spell it like that.

Alright, thanks for your answer.
So it's way to make it sound and look more "Spanish", or Latino...

Here is a photo I took of a Tortilla Flats member that had Comptone with the "e" tatted on his back. Also colored it with the Mexican flag colors.

That’s just throwing the Chicano/Mexican flavor on it ^^

Just like we spell Barrio with a “V” on purpose

it is to put a strong ending accent to the name ~> chicano style

CLANTONE would probably be one of the first to have put it down in a such way
an E at the end

when you say it in spanish with a street gang tone, it makes perfect sense

i always thought it was for the chicano pronunciation (com-TONE) kinda like the blacks pronounce it com-town at times

a friend of mine pronounces it "com-ton-eh" depending on what she's saying "la com-ton-eh" maybe it's more of a spanish thing that way

As others have said is to give a more Spanish/Latin style of pronunciation.
