Fellow Raider Fans...

They just announced the Raiders will play New England in the season's opener on a Thursday night. Rest of NFL schedule to be announced soon.

The NFL obviously did this because of Moss. So, now we know why Al Davis signed him. Lol.

So, do you think this team can do it? We've got the talent on offense, but I don't know about our defense. Ranked 30th, two years straight, and under two different defensive coordinators. I dunno.

I really think it might come down to the head coach. Al Davis isn't a coach's owner, but when you think about it, Gruden built a team that had us knocking on the door of the Super Bowl. I really think we have to go that route again, and bring in a coach like him. Norv Turner's smart, but he just doesn't command the respect the way Gruden did when he was here.

What do you guys think?

And, Raider Haters, let's hear your nonsense too! Bring it!

I live in Houston now and I am surrounded by Raider haters, but I am still a fan, til the end! All I can say is that the Raiders have always had talented receivers. Who is gonna QB? What good is Moss if there is no one that can get the ball to him. And, DEFENSE wins games for you. No D and we will be a sub par team again.

I think it comes down to Al Davis and how much control he's going to allow Norv Turner to have.

I really don't see a big difference in the talent we have now from the talent that Gruden inherited when he came in, sans Randy Moss.

The thing is, if Norv Turner has a great year, I mean, like 12 wins, they win the division, etc., he's going to ask for the same thing Gruden asked for; At least a 15 million/5yr. contract with control of the team. And Davis will get rid of him too.

If Al Davis lets Norv Turner coach the team, sky's the limit. But, even if he does and Turner does succeed, would we keep him? I think that's been our biggest problem over the years. My guess is that we'll have a good season this year, and things are going to get interesting; Both on and OFF the field.

Very true... It's like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. Hopefully Al will learn to just own the team and let the people he pays to do a job, do that job.
