Thats true too, you can also add some weight to your back or raise your feet up to put more stress on the muscles. I used to lift but now prefer lots of bodyweight work.

I lift heavy weight for low reps. 6-8 or 8-10 I take Creatine and Glutamine every other month as well as amino acid pills. NO STERIODS!!!!
It's a good idea to work a certain body part each day. Ex. Mon-chest Tues.-legs Wed.-shoulders Thur.-back Fri-Arms and the weekend is rest. I've noticed improvement. Free weights are best. Cable machines are good also.

Funky, You take Creotine? Liquid or Powder? I suggest Strongly you get off the Powder if that is what you are consuming. It bloats you up, Your muscles absorb the water (The 2 gallons that the substance reccomends) You end up bloated like a fish, with very little Muscle growth. Im currently in my off season, But soon as the football season starts back up, Its right back to my Normal Diet. ALL WHITE MEAT, LIQUID CREATINE, MORE WHITE MEAT, FISH VITAMINS, GATORADE AND WATER. For four months straight. Its a bytch but it pays off. Glutamine is Extremly important however to Muscle Devlopment and growth. Very Vital and most people dont realise this, they figure "O Lemme get some protien and creatine and ill be a strong Fucc" Not the Caseat all.
But anyway I dont wanna school ya, Im sure you know what your doing. Just Some strong advise, Get off that Powder if your on it. im out.

str8 up and down dont fuck with them powder supplements - criatine is bad for your kidneys - i got shot in my kidney and i only got one so i had to find an alternative. lots of carbs - bread-noodles- all that. protein from other sources than meat.

No weights in the cell we do this thing call max out - it goes like this
in a row NONstop

50 push ups
50 sit ups
25 push ups
25 sit ups
then sets of 20-15-10-5-4-3-2-1

theres this thing also called pressure lifting -
thats when you do one set of something out of your lifting range - Dangerous but effective

ill try and see what else i can remember but stick to lifting weights everyday ----- some niggas get lazy and fall off. ill see wut other methods i remember

Haha my boy took me to Brownsville Parks Dept., threw on 315 on incline, and said "Do it". Pressure lifting will mentally prepare you for heavy weight, and shock your muscles into handling what you didn't think you could

Needless to say theres some big motherf*ckers in that gym, boy.

im not sure, i have never actually tried it, but i have heard of it by many and they swear by it.

i think it involved working out mon, wed, fri, doing one set per body part by maxing out. like do one set of bench presses and going all out. you do that for every body part. you follow a strictly bulking diet to gain mass and weight. i am not totally sure. search google or something for a better explanation.

AcmeWhiteBread,
Can you give me a run down of the SoCal prison workouts that people do with no access to freeweights. Ive heard stories of some crazy workouts using burpees with a pushup and a jump at the end.

Cool DC, thanks for the curtious reply. I appreciate the respect and will extend that to you. Yeah man, in the joint guys come up with all kinds of ways. Here is a quick list of some.

1. You can buy creatine from a mail order companey called Walking Horse. Also glutamine.
2. There are some steroids available in there, I wont say how they do it, but you can get them..
3. Surenos have the routines locked down, I cant speak for them but they rock that shit everyday.

Methods-

1. Burpees, do like between 300 to 500 a day.
2. I used to do 500 push ups a day.
3. When I was in, we had weights. The heaviest cellie I ever had had been *rumored* to be an AB prospect. He put me through routine's till I almost died, NO EXAGGERATION.
4. In a dorm situation like Jamestown, you can put your bro's up on the top two bunks, get underneath it and " Bench Press" it.
5. You can get a broom handle and tie trash bags full of water to each end and curl it. Also use it for just about anything else you would use a bar for.
6. I used to stand on my hands with my feet against the wall and do upside down push up's. ( Quite a head rush).
7. THey still have dip bars and pull up bars. I used to do 1000's of those.
8. I was one of those guys that just worked out all the time. I ran a lot, I when I would get back to the "pad" I would do my katas and some kick boxing and shoot fighting routines. I ate high calorie food. God Damn soups till I cant stand to see then any more. I stayed on swole in there. I walked in, introduced nyself to the shot caller, and mostly did my own thing unless it went off. Man Im grateful to be free....This has me thinking about it......Peace...

Thanks for the reply Acme, I just like reading about how creative people can get with working out when they have no access to gyms and what not.
I used to lift but these days I like doing lots of bodyweight work like Pushups,Dips,Pullups and Dynamic Tension type exercises. The reason I dont do as much weights anymore is because my joints seem to get injured especially the shoulders with heavy weights. Anyway you get get in pretty good shape with just your own bodyweight.
Its good having someone on this forum with firsthand info as to how things really are on the inside.

Thanks
