If you could do it over again...

This is the forum for those who believe that there are other options to gangs and violence and hope to see young people make better choices about their future. Where does change begin?

...would you join a gang? i mean i know for most its inevitable but you always hear about people who some how avoided it became sucessful, etc etc. Do any of you regret it? Maybe these are dumb questions, but Ive always wondered. A lot of g's seem to take pride in their sets, etc, yet when they see youngsters trying to get up in it, they tell them to stop. (From what Ive seen...Im not speakin on behalf of everyone).

Ah the old dynamics in the hood discussion. Always a good one. The hood has everything from young "apartment prisoners" to the elderly. It's not just gangmembers and their families up in there.

Well Bull's Fan, let me give you the short answer for a gang of my homies: No.

But you must understand that would be in hindsight. So not a fair question.

I'd want them hanging out with gangsta kids in "the gang" over at Victory Outreach but certainly not on the street doing drugs, getting drunk, planning the next mission to hurt or kill someone while waiting to get blasted in a driveby. The answer is a resounding NO!
