Whats an area code? Is it like a zip code?

Over here we got PostCode, when im in London mine is NW10, when im at my moms its MK40 and when i go back to my home town its TS1.

The lower the number (1,2,3...9,10) the closer you are to city. 1-10 in London is Inner City. Although MK40 is an inner city area, but only because it is close to another large city.

a area code is exactly wjat it says like in a certain area dey have 3 numbers you have 2 dial if you arent from that code, like so in chicago we have 3 area codes: 773,708,312. different areas have different codes

Our area code covers Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and I believe even some of Rochester but I'm not sure about that. It's 716. And if your not from the area and you want to call someone in that area you need to dial 1, then the area code, and then their phone number. So if you were in New York City and you wanted to call me you would need to dial 1-716-555-5555.

oh ok. Our area codes aint like that, they cover a large area too. The numbers for our areas are like 01642, 0161, 020, 01234, 01353, 01223... But they can cover a whole county
