B'KLYN COPS LOOK SOUTH FOR 'KILLER'

By LARRY CELONA
August 12, 2005 -- Cops have widened their search for the crazed Brooklyn man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend's mom and her dog and slashing her niece, police said.
Detectives have been tipped that Pierre Carrenard, 35, fled to the South after the brutal Tuesday attack in the East Flatbush apartment of his ex-girlfriend's mother, Esperance "Pepe" Lapidou, 53.
During the frenzied stabbing spree, he allegedly murdered Lapidou and her tiny Chihuahua mix, Foo-Foo, and slashed Patricia Gaspar, 16, across the face.
Carrenard had been stalking and threatening Lapidou's daughter, Francois MacDaly, ever since the two broke up several months ago, friends said.
MacDaly, 25, had obtained a restraining order against him, they said.
Police said that shortly before the attack, Carrenard called MacDaly at her hospital job and threatened to harm her mother.
Unable to reach her mom by phone to warn her, MacDaly had her niece go to her East 43d Street apartment — where she found Carrenard and was slashed.

MACHETE GANG STABS BX. TEEN

August 12, 2005 -- A 16-year-old Bronx boy was in critical condition last night after a mob of suspected gang thugs attacked him with a machete as he and a younger pal walked to a McDonald's.

His 12-year-old friend hid from the slasher and was unhurt in the incident at Clifford Place and Walton Avenue.
"We think [Cottrell] was mistaken for someone else," said the victim's father, David.
Police said the assault appeared to have been gang-related. The victim has two prior drug arrests, they said.
At her son's side at St. Barnabas Hospital, Cottrell's mother said he was a victim of senseless brutality. "We don't even know who these kids were," said Donna Cottrell. "He's a good kid."

STRAY BULLET HITS B'KLYN BUS

August 12, 2005 -- A stray bullet smashed through the windshield of a city bus — narrowly missing the driver — on a Brooklyn street last night, police said.
The gunfire erupted at 7:30 p.m., when two men in a car on Gates Avenue in Bed- Stuy spotted a man with whom they had a beef.
They yelled something at the man, ID'd as Carl Spencer, 24, who pulled out a .45 handgun and fired, cops said.
The men drove off in an Infiniti, which was hit by a bullet. Another hit the bus.
After Spencer ran out of bullets, the men returned and chased him on foot, cops said. They followed him into a building on Monroe Street, but cops arrived in time to arrest him before the men could get to him.
As police were taking Spencer away in handcuffs, one of his pursuers allegedly began punching him. That man, Paul Breece, 22, was charged with assault.

"He saw the guy rummaging through the garbage and he was making a mess and throwing things onto the sidewalk," said a police source. "Drescher said to him, 'What do you think you're doing?'
"He pulled out a knife and looked him in the eye and stabbed him once in the chest."
The stabber got away.
The victim, who has an arrest record, stumbled 50 feet along the sidewalk before collapsing outside the musician's vegan eatery, Teany, at 90 Rivington St.
A Teany employee, who identified herself only as Juliette, said Drescher was in "his death throes" when he collapsed, his shirt "soaked through" with blood.
Some people were in too big a hurry to walk around his body, she said — and just stepped over it.
"Some people noticed, gawking. A lot of people just stepped over," she said. "I asked the cops to tape the front of the restaurant because people were like, 'Can we get lattes?' " We're like, 'No, you can't get anything.' People in New York just don't care."
Another Teany worker, Roger Peffley, said, "He just fell on his back and blood was all over him. He yelled out, 'Call an ambulance!'
"People were just walking by with their iPod headphones on. That was tripping me out, that they kept on walking."
Drescher, a father of one who lived on Delancey Street with his mother, had been busted at least 10 times, cops said. Several of the arrests were for drugs.
Moby issued a statement saying, "I am deeply upset by this random act of violence that took place right on our doorstep. While this is purely coincidental in location, we grieve for those affected by this misfortune."
The area has seen an increase in murders this year — six so far compared with two in the same period last year.
The most notorious killing was that of model Nicole DuFresne, who was leaving a bar with friends in January when they were set upon by a gang of thugs.
She was shot dead after challenging the muggers by saying: "What are you going to do, shoot us?"

BIAS-BEAT BUSTS

By LARRY CELONA, ERIKA MARTINEZ and HEIDI SINGER
The suspects will be charged with second-degree assault as a hate crime, prosecutors said.
Police said more arrests are expected.
Moore told cops the attack happened as he was walking with a friend, Duane Smith, 15 — the boyfriend of Morse's sister — and several others in the Flatlands section. Moore said they were confronted by an enraged Morse, who had quarreled with him two days earlier.
The five suspects and several others stepped from an SUV with their weapons and allegedly began beating Moore — the only one in the group who not escaped — spewing racial epithets and then robbing him of $50.
Moore was injured in the chest, elbow and ankle.
Morse is due next month in court in a separate assault case stemming from a January incident in which he allegedly beat up a man and a woman.
According to law-enforcement sources, Morse grabbed the woman by the hair, punched her, threw her to the ground and spit in her face.
Morse was also arrested in April 2004 for allegedly stealing a digital camera and cellphone from a car.

THUG: I KILLED BROTHERS

By ALEX GINSBERG
August 17, 2005 -- A Queens man who stabbed two brothers to death in a brawl will serve 23 years.
Adrian Soriano, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter yesterday. "I was in a fight and I stabbed two people," he said. "I didn't want to harm nobody."
Soriano admitted fatally stabbing half-brothers Miguel Pedro Martinez, 25, and Eduardo Leason, 33, on March 1, 2003 on a South Jamaica street.

HEROIN RING SMACKED
August 17, 2005 -- The NYPD and federal narcotics agents yesterday busted a heroin-processing plant — equipped with trapdoors and secret passageways for quick getaways — that turned out $6 million worth of drugs a week, officials said.
NYPD cops and feds stormed the "heroin mill" hidden in a converted duplex in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, said DEA special agent John Gilbride.
Thirteen workers were arrested and agents seized 50 kilos of heroin, most of it packed into 150,000 glassine envelopes, ready for distribution to street dealers. The street value of the packaged drugs — which sold for $10 to $14 an envelope — was $2.1 million.
"This is a significant amount of heroin to find in a retail-level distribution," said Gilbride. "This was a significant operation that was pumping this poison into the metropolitan area."
Agents discovered the plant — where black-tar heroin was turned into powder form, then cut and repackaged — in the basement of a two-story building at 3166 Fenton Ave.
The dealers had built secret passageways, accessed through trapdoors in closets, connecting the basement and the four apartments they controlled, so they never had to show their faces in public hallways.
Agents stormed the mill and nabbed workers as they scrambled into the hidden passageways from their dusty and cramped production line.
One woman was found hiding in a clothes dryer.
Seven handguns were also found.
The suspects were arraigned in Manhattan federal court yesterday and charged with narcotics trafficking and firearms offenses. Each faces 15 years to life. All were held without bail pending hearings.
In addition to the dope and guns, authorities seized $250,000 in cash, 150 coffee grinders used on the production line, two money-counting machines, 21 cases of empty glassine envelopes and dozens of rubber stamps used to "brand" the smack.
"We have made a major dent . . . a crippling blow to heroin trade in the area," said Anthony Izzo, assistant chief officer of the NYPD Narcotics Unit.
Agents are still investigating and testing the dope to see if it is cut with any dangerous additives. They're trying to determine if it was responsible for the so-called "bad batch" that has been killing users in the city.

NYPD DAILY BLOTTER
August 21, 2005 --
Manhattan
* About 120 paintings — worth $30,000 — were stolen in a smash-and-grab from the world's fastest artist yesterday.
Morris Katz, listed by the Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley's as the world's fastest and most prolific painter, discovered he was missing a pile of canvases when he went to retrieve his Ford van on West 29th Street in Chelsea around 5:30 a.m. and found the driver's-side window smashed in.
"They broke in and just grabbed at anything. It was a mess," Katz said.
"They left behind over 200 paintings. But on the front seat they took two museum-quality paintings that were worth $5,000 each."
Later in the day, Katz was back at work at his West 29th Street studio knocking out a few new works.
In his 60 years as an artist he claims to have done more than 270,000 paintings.
He can do a 12-by- 16-foot painting in five minutes, so he figures to replace the stolen goods rather quickly.
* A man in his 20s was critically wounded by a knife-wielding assailant in Washington Heights yesterday, police said.
The victim, whose name was withheld, was walking at West 190th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue at about 1 a.m., when an unidentified attacker stabbed him twice in the torso, cops said.
The injured man was taken to Harlem Hospital.
* Decomposing remains were discovered floating in the East River near 34th Street, police said yesterday.
The body, whose gender was not immediately determined, was found at about 3 p.m. Friday and recovered by an NYPD Harbor Unit.
The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
* A Harlem man was busted for animal cruelty yesterday after he paid a friend $3 to ditch his dying dog at the ASPCA — because he wouldn't pay a vet $60 to treat the pooch.
The dog, who couldn't bark or stand and was barely moving or breathing, was brought to the ASPCA in a closed plastic bag.
The 5-year-old called Fifi was doused in the perfume his owner allegedly used to try to disguise his filthy condition.
Half his normal weight and with sores all over his body, Fifi was put eventually put to sleep by the ASPCA.
Ramon Rodriguez, 65, of West 126th Street, was arrested near his home by ASPCA officer Pete Rivas.
In consultation with the Bronx the, Rodriguez's charges were lifted to a felony, with the possible penalty of two years prison.
Bronx
* An unidentified man was shot dead in Mott Haven last night, police sources said.
The victim, who was in his 30s, was at 308 E. 145th St. just before 9 p.m., when a gunman opened fire on him.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he died soon afterward.
* A passenger getting into a livery cab was shot and his pal pistol-whipped yesterday in Hunts Point, sources said.
The two men, whose identities were withheld, had been involved in a dispute with two other men moments earlier.
A representative of Mega Radio cabs said at least two men approached the car at Kelly Street and Westchester Avenue in another vehicle.
One pulled a gun on the driver, placed it to his head and said: "Don't go anywhere!"
Police said that seconds later, a shot was fired into the rear passenger window, striking a 29-year-old man in the left leg. The other passenger, 32, was smashed in the face with a gun.
Both victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
* Cops using tranquilizer darts subdued a mad dog that bit a hand that wanted to feed him, authorities said.
Authorities said a 64-year-old retiree from Graniteville spotted the 70-pound Siberian husky near his home and the dog suddenly lunged at him.
Police, who spent two hours getting the dog under control, said it had a fever.
It was taken to a local shelter.

COP WOUNDED AS BULLETS FLY
August 21, 2005 -- A cop was wounded and a suspect was shot in a violent encounter early this morning at a Brooklyn housing project, police said.
Police officials said that an NYPD officer was shot and taken to Kings County Hospital where he was being treated last night.
The extent of the suspect's injuries were unknown. He was taken from the scene at the Marcy Houses by ambulance to Brookdale Hospital.
It was unclear what led to the incident about 1:15 a.m. at the housing project at 472 Marcy Ave.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN BROOKLYN
August 21, 2005 -- A 24-year-old man was shot to death near the campus of the Pratt Institute, police said yesterday.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately known, was fired at by an unknown gunman at the intersection of Classon and De Kalb avenues at 11:30 p.m. last night. Police had no motive for the shooting.

A BOLD BOY BLOCKS A BULLET
ugust 21, 2005 -- A 13-year-old Brooklyn boy jumped in front of a fusillade of bullets early yesterday, taking a round in the back for a 10-year-old girl.
Destiny Liddie, 10, was hanging out with several friends at 2 a.m. Saturday morning after getting her hair braided by her cousin when a pair of thugs began firing on the kids, hitting Destiny in the arm.
"I knew I was hit, and I fell," the Destiny said from her hospital bed at Brookdale Hospital. "It was bleeding and burning."
But with bullets flying, courageous Ellis Mercado, 13, ran to her rescue.
"When she got hit, I heard her screaming," said Ellis, also at Brookdale. "I grabbed her and dragged her into the building."
But as he jumped on her, a slug sliced through his back and came out his stomach, grazing Destiny once more in the chest. She was also hit again in the other arm.

"I thank [the boy] who tried to save my baby," said Destiny's mother, Wanda Ramos, 30. "Because she wouldn't be here [otherwise]."
"He was ready to give his life up for hers," said Luis Mercado, 41, father of the young hero. "I'm mad because he got shot, but I'm proud because he saved someone else."
Residents say the children were casualties of a bloody Brownsville turf war between the Newport Gardens Houses — where Destiny was staying with relatives — and the nearby Riverdale projects, where Ellis lives.
"It's a stupid, silly, ridiculous beef between two warring factions in the developments," said Councilman Charles Barron, who visited the kids. "This madness must stop."
Witnesses said the gunmen had no clear target when they began shooting at 2 a.m. where the group of kids was hanging out, as cousin Carlos Arce Jr., 18, was standing nearby.
Arce said he saw two young men running, and one of them paused and turned, then fired one shot from about 40 feet away. They then began blasting rapid-fire shots at the youngsters.
"They just started shooting towards my cousins," he said. "He was shooting towards the kids."
Residents of the area say this is the third day in a row in which their neighborhood has been lit up by gunfire in the bloody row between the warring housing projects. Ironically, the latest shooting occurred just before Newport Day, an annual block party when the neighborhood comes together.
"It's been three days in a row," said Margarita Ruiz, 39, a relative of the victims. "It's terrible here."

you got a point...I will just post a few more days worth of stories from the paper_ even though we are considered the "safest" big city its still gets gritty as hell_my feeling with the crime stats is that NYC needs that tourist money like no other (since 9/11) so lots of things they keep under wraps and unreported...Its all politics and money.

* A young rap producer raped 13- and 14-year-old cousins, luring them from the Port Authority bus depot to his Upper West Side apartment with the promise of a music video appearance, police said yesterday.
Alex Jean, 18, was charged with rape, endangering the welfare of a child and promoting a sexual performance by a child because he videotaped the alleged attack, cops said.
Jean's lawyer, Mel Sachs, said Jean "was never involved in any kind of conduct like this or any acts of violence."

* A Bloods gang member and two wannabe gang bangers kidnapped a 15-year-old Bronx runaway and planned to force her into prostitution to raise money to bail out a fellow Blood, prosecutors charged yesterday.
The alleged kidnappers ?Karen Lockhart, 18; Larue Daniel, 28, and Jean M. Gedeon, 20 ?kept their victim stripped and locked up in Gedeon's Far Rockaway home, authorities said.
Lockhart befriended the runaway on May 31 and then introduced her to her accomplices. The three allegedly allowed their pals to sodomize her before she escaped the next day.

These two are just disgusting and pathetic.

_yeah sick stories end, im just posting what was in the blotter for those days. ill probably end the stories this weekend, and probably post just once in a while with more crime stories. heres more from today:

HELL WEEKEND

August 22, 2005 -- Gunfire erupted at a Queens park last night, leaving one man dead, another fighting for his life and two others injured.
The shootings, in Laurelton, capped 24 hours of violence that saw five other men murdered in Queens, Brooklyn and The Bronx.
The last incident took place at 8 p.m. in Montbellier Park after several fights had broken out there earlier.
People involved in the violence returned and at least one opened fire in front of hundreds of people at an annual festival, which features former area residents returning for games, food and fun with current residents.
A 21-year-old man who was shot in the chest was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.
A bullet passed through the left hand and into the stomach of another 21-year-old man, who was in very critical condition at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg, and was in stable condition at Jamaica. "He's all right. He's in good spirits," his dad said.
Another man, 21, walked into Jamaica Hospital with a wound to the left arm. Police were looking into the possibility that he was one of the shooters.
Cops found 10 to 12 shell casings from two guns.
The violence was part of a bloody weekend:

* The first killing occurred at 8:34 p.m. Saturday in The Bronx's Mott Haven section, when Michael "Mikey" Colon, 39, was shot in the chest after arguing with another man on East 145th St.
Colon, a motorcycle mechanic who friends said once served two short prison stints for motorcycle theft, was admired by local residents for turning his life around and for lecturing kids about the perils of criminal life.
He acted as a mediator between the Bloods and Crips street gangs, pals said — and also donated bicycles to children.
But the father of four recently became worried about a long-running feud with a man known only as "Richard."
"On Thursday, he told me he had this fight with Richard and it's getting out of hand and somebody's going to get hurt," said his sister, Lucy Colon.
"I'm in mourning, but I'm angry," she said. "They told me [the killer] pushed [Colon] up against the wall and shot [him]."
* Less than two hours later, towering basketball hopeful Oscar Javier, 19, was shot in the stomach at West Tremont and University avenues in Morris Heights (bronx).
Cops said they knew of no motive, but Javier's uncle, Cesar Rasuk, said authorities told the family that the 6-foot-7 teen was killed for "breaking up a fight."
"Oscar wouldn't hurt anybody," Rasuk said.
Javier, a native of the Dominican Republic, "had hopes of playing pro basketball" and was attending classes to obtain his GED.
His girlfriend is four months pregnant with their child, Rasuk said.
* In Brooklyn, Hastings Fersner, 29, was shot twice in the neck outside 345 Classon Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant at 11:36 p.m. during a block party.
* At 4:20 a.m. yesterday, Darren George, 23, was shot once in the face as he was about to enter his residence on Beverley Road in Flatbush.
* About two hours later, Jeremy Rodriguez, 19, was shot twice in the head as he lay sleeping on a bench at the Roosevelt Houses in Bedford Stuyvesant.
The chilling death toll is in stark contrast to this year's overall city trend, which is on track to record the lowest number of murders in four decades.

How does this crap not end up on the news, I mean MAINSTREAM news?

People are becoming so seperated, more apathy lately.

For a little while after 9/11, people were all together and stuff, but after a few months, it went back to normal. sad.

* Police yesterday were searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed a teenager on a Morrisania street.
Cops said Kip Peterson (left), 19, drew a gun and shot Felipe Cooper, 17, in the back and right arm at East 161st Street near Union Avenue about 1:19 p.m. on Aug. 11. Cooper later died at Lincoln Hospital.
Peterson, whose motive was unknown, was described as 5-foot-8, between 170 and 180 pounds.
Manhattan
* Police yesterday were asking for the public's help in finding four suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Harlem.
According to cops, Jarvis Bradford, 21, his brother and friends left the Cherry Lounge on West 128th Street at 4:20 a.m. on June 19 and went to pick up a meal at a McDonald's on West 125th Street.
"They were buying food," said neighbor Paul Colon, 53. "They got into an argument with the gunman, and the guy just opened up on him [Bradford]."
Police sources said Bradford was hit at least three times and died at St. Luke's Hospital.
The first of four suspects was described as a black man with a medium to light complexion, 25 to 35, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, with possibly a tattoo on his right forearm.
The second suspect was a 25-to-35-year-old black or Hispanic man, between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall, with tattoos on both forearms and his neck.
The third was a 25-to-35-year-old black or Hispanic woman, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-8, with a tattoo on her upper right arm.
The fourth was a heavyset 25-to-35-year- old black man, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall.
Brooklyn
* Two teens were arrested in connection with an assault and robbery in a Brownsville subway station, authorities said yesterday.
Sources said Dion Williams, Marlon Allicock, both 18, and four accomplices shoved a 48-year-old man against a wall as he waited on a platform for a Manhattan-bound L train about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
One thug smashed the man in the head with a bottle, and an accomplice snatched the man's wallet, cellphone, $306 payroll check and $40 in cash. The suspects fled.
Police found and arrested Williams and Allicock about eight blocks from the station.
The victim was treated for a head wound.
* A 16-year-old supermarket employee has been arrested for beating a man with a slab of wood in a Flatbush supermarket, authorities said yesterday.
The incident began at 11 a.m. Monday at the Key Food store on Flatbush Avenue near Lenox Road, when the 30-year- old victim came in to collect bottle deposits.
As the victim spoke to store workers, they began talking among themselves and one of them made a joke, prompting the victim to chuckle.
One of the workers, Essa Othman, 16, apparently did not appreciate the victim laughing and smashed him in the head with a piece of wood, sources said.
Police arrested Othman, who was charged with assault, menacing and weapons possession.
The victim suffered cheek cuts.
* A man was shot and wounded on an East New York street, police sources said yesterday.
The 20-year-old man was walking at Miller and Pitkin avenues about 11:50 a.m. Monday when he heard gunfire, felt a sting in his leg and realized he had been shot.
He went to Brookdale Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
* A middle-aged man was shot and stabbed by an assailant during what may have been a botched robbery in Crown Heights, police sources said yesterday.
The 55-year-old victim was confronted by the unidentified attacker at the corner of Pacific Street and Nostrand Avenue about 11:40 p.m. Monday.
The thug then shot and stabbed the man in the chest during an apparent attempted robbery.
The wounded man was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed as not likely to die. The suspect fled.
Queens

* Two teenagers were arrested for firing gunshots at another teen during an argument on a Far Rockaway street, police sources said yesterday.
The suspects, Kamell Taylor, 19, and a 15-year- old boy, got into a spat with a 19-year-old male at McBride Street and Dix Avenue about 10:40 p.m. Monday, sources said.
Both suspects pulled guns and the 15-year-old fired two shots at the victim's head but missed, cops said.

After the victim, Darnell Moore, was wounded on West 151st Street around 7 p.m., the suspects jumped into a car and led cops on a high-speed chase down the FDR Drive.

Charges against the suspects were pending.

Ali Kamara, 35, walked through the group at Fifth Avenue near 131st Street at about 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 18. The suspects became belligerent, saying Kamara had disrespected them by not walking around them. One of the group punched Kamara in the head, knocking him to the ground. Kamara was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he died.
Brooklyn
*A man rammed his van into a police car and injured two cops after threatening five people with a machete in Bedford-Stuyvesant, authorities said yesterday.
The violence began at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday when Otis Walker Jr., 44, got out of a 2000 GMC van to shout at five people on Kosciusko Street near Tompkins Avenue.
Walker allegedly pulled a knife and swung it near the face of one of the people.
He then jumped into his van and fled, but returned minutes later with a machete.
He slashed at the group before driving off again, sources said. No one was injured.
Police arrived and the victims gave a description of the van.
Two cops saw Walker in the van on Tompkins Avenue. Walker spotted them, sped a few feet away, then backed up and slammed the van into the patrol car, the sources said.
The officers suffered minor injuries. Walker was arrested that day and charged with menacing and reckless driving.
*A teenager was arrested for beating and stabbing an acquaintance in a Red Hook building in March, authorities said yesterday.
Hassan Meadows, 18 — who had just been released from Rikers Island, where he served time for a parole violation — was busted on Wednesday and charged with assault, sources said.
At 9 p.m. on March 5, Meadows encountered the 23-year-old man in the apartment building and allegedly threatened him for "taking my cup of liquor."
Sources said Meadows jumped the man and knocked him to the ground, then allegedly kicked and stomped the man repeatedly before pulling a sharp object and stabbing him twice, the sources said.
The victim was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where he needed 100 staples to close his wounds.
*A motorcyclist was busted early yesterday after speeding through Graniteville and struggling with police, authorities said yesterday.

He was charged with reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.

Armando Mason, 30, allegedly swiped the purse, which the woman had put down on a park bench on Lamport Boulevard at about 5:16 p.m. Wednesday.
Sources said Mason then ran inside the city housing complex, and the victim, a senior citizen, alerted police.
Cops arrived and arrested Mason in the lobby. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

TWO SHOT IN CAR ON GRAND CENTRAL

August 26, 2005 -- Two men were shot while riding in a car on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens early yesterday, police said.
One victim, 21 and from Howard Beach, was hit in the throat; the other, 23 and from Fresh Meadows, was grazed in the back.
Their driver, a 22-year-old from Howard Beach, was not injured. Their names were being withheld by police.
The men said that they were headed east in an Audi at 4 a.m. when a dark, two-door sedan pulled alongside near 111th Street and they heard three pops.
When the 21-year-old realized that he'd been shot, the driver pulled over and called 911, they said.
The younger man was rushed to New York Hospital Queens, where he was listed in stable condition last night.
Sources said the three victims may not be fully cooperating with investigators. The gunplay, the sources said, may have stemmed from something that happened in Club Central in Astoria, where the men had partied earlier.

MURDER IN THE SUBWAY

August 26, 2005 -- Early Memorial Day, a man was found dead under a southbound No. 6 train after mysteriously toppling off a Bronx subway platform, leading cops to wonder if he'd stumbled, fainted or committed suicide.
Yesterday, autopsy results gave them their answer — he'd been pushed.
Enrique Soriano, 66, of Freeman Street in The Bronx, died with telltale bruises to his face and hands that were inconsistent with anything he could have suffered had he simply fallen to the tracks and been struck by a train, according to findings by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Instead, the injuries were consistent with a violent struggle, cops said, declining to elaborate. His death has now been ruled a homicide.
After learning of the fatal foul play yesterday, Soriano's family said they had known all along he hadn't fallen by accident or taken his own life.
Soriano, a baggage handler for Delta Air Lines at La Guardia Airport, had been on his way to work at 3:37 a.m. when he was struck as the train pulled into the Whitlock Avenue station.
The father of three was a cheerful man and doting husband, they said. He called his wife from work every morning. Soriano been planning a trip with his daughter, Erica, 29, to his native Ecuador the following month, they said.
He wasn't depressed; he also wasn't the type to lean out over the subway platform while waiting for a train.
Suspiciously, the chain that he wore on his neck was missing when his body was recovered, as was his money, they said.
"I want to know what happened," said his 61-year-old widow, Rosa.
"I want to know what they did to him. How did this happen?"
Eerily, Soriano's eldest son, David, said he went to the same subway station six hours after the accident on his own way to work. The station was closed for a police investigation — but the family wouldn't learn why until later in the day.
It is not yet clear whether Soriano died before or after he was hit by the train, but a medical examiner spokeswoman said he died from blunt-impact injuries to the torso, with fractures and internal injuries.
