Now this I have to disagree on.....there is more inner city areas than there are "rich parts". The "rich parts" are on the edges of LB, bordering Los Alamitos, Lakewood....with exception to Belmont Shore/peninsula/Naples and then there is Bixby Knolls which sits right between downtown and N.town.End Violence NOW wrote:^^^ Yup Long Beach is mostly white. And it's the other way around, there are some ghetto parts, not there are some rich parts. The parts that are messed up are smaller, gang mentallity thinking you have to bang is ruining things, not vice-versa at this point

Ummmmm....I don't recall/read where anyone was saying anything about "dodging any bullets all day" anywhere in this thread. Don't know where you read that, but it was'nt this thread. Maybe you imagined it?AcmeWhiteBread wrote:Look who is talking, Im just bringing it to your level. Anyone whi says Long Beach is like some area where your doging bullets all day is full of sh^t.
Acme is on some mark shit. Look cuzz - that city is a well funded and rich city. With that comes flaws as in havin ghettos all around. You guys are on some hood shit, but visitors coming in and out think it as of a respectable city. Now as far as Long Beach not havin drama - nigga I guess you never experinced the pain and wrath of the Eastside. Its a city where bluie fights bluie and even the Surenos hang up the blue and we fight them too. You went to Poly? Where you there when King Park was alive and kickin? Poly HS is adjecent to the hood. Anyway - yes there are more whites in LB and let me stress how many Asians we have. As far Latinos - what city in Southern Cali do we not have browns? LOL

To be clear, LB is a nice city that has a little drama in the north side. LB is a nice city by comparison to Compton. We all gettin this? No I never felt the pain, Im 6'5" 260, and have the respect of anyone who knows me. All G's I went to school with called me Big Wood. Just being cool. I did time and my perspective of race changed in there. But whatever.......

Both of you saying almost the exact same thing, I don't see the need for argument here. cbi just emphasizes E/S stuff and Acme just emphasizes N/S stuff.AcmeWhiteBread wrote:To be clear, LB is a nice city that has a little drama in the north side. As far as just how much drama there is, both of you can be right - there is only as much drama as you get involved in. I know some people come out of Poly fine and others taht get caught up in the 20LC/BIG stuff get all messed up and drop out or get expelled. It really depends on you and who you hang out with, and what part of town you pay attention to in what way. The N/S and E/S both have the majority of the "bad spots" so both of you are right.

I am from by CSULB (E/S) and believe it....we do have quite a bit of crime over here. There is an AM/PM over here and somebody is always trying to rob it, I have had people running through my backyard, cops everywhere, helicopter with its spotlight in my yard. Also, we have a mall about 2 blocks over and because its near the 405...places over there have robbery attempts quite often.

I lived a lil up north from that city. I tell ya.. Unless you have at least 10 million dollars tucked away and can live in the best area with no having to commute through any bad parts.. LA area in general aint worth residing.. Im serious.. Dont think about getting a miniscule job or whatever.. the heck with that.. well I mean if you are going to school to become something better than maybe but... If you wanna throw your life away, then that area is a good place to do it. I can also do this living near Honolulu, Hawaii or a place like Waipahu.. and survive better but with the same miniscule economic opportunities

This ^ I agree with. The cost of living here is outrageous.3Harmonies wrote:I lived a lil up north from that city. I tell ya.. ^^For a little while though I lived in Koreatown, just a few months in the summer, and it really wasn't bad. Rent was like 400-500 for a small-@ss studio apartment but it was livable, not like bullets fly by the 5th story room.
And if you already got a job there, I mean in Wilshire district they got those tall business building, someone's making money lol. Mostly bankers and stuff though.
But if you plan on living in the bad areas and don't already have a job there, you're right, it's not a smart idea.
