Teen Gunned Down in Cherry Hill Neighborhood

(AP) Baltimore, MD Baltimore police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager in Baltimore City's Cherry Hill neighborhood. The 17-year-old boy was gunned down Tuesday night in the 2800 block of Carver Road at around 10 p.m.
Police investigating shots heard in the area found the boy bleeding from at least one wound. The boy, whose name is being withheld, died less than an hour later at nearby Harbor Hospital.
His death is the city's 220th homicide this year- the 22nd murder victim under 18. Thirteen children were killed violently last year alone. WJZ's Mike Hellgren spoke with Steve Vassor of the Hampden Family Center who says, "They call the Central Booking site downtown 'Baby Bookings'."
"They're our future, " City Councilman Ken Harris says referring to youth. "We've got to start from the beginning in making sure we create opportunities for our children."
