1) i installed this program that requires 256 MB of RAM to operate, and i have 712MB of the shit. Anyways my first problem is that the program says i have insuffecient RAM to operate it, but i have 712 lol

So i cant run it

2)After this i removed the 512MB stick of RAM i put in myself (months ago), and reinserted it cause i thought it was loose. Well now my computer wont start, so now i removed it so i can run my computer. It wont start now only when that 512 MB stick of RAM is in it.

Anyways now im thinking that the stick of RAM i bought wasnt compatible with my computer, and mabye it wasnt properly in all this time.

Do i need to buy the right RAM?
or is the software just broken

You might have the wrong memory type installed... Older PC's generally run on DDR1 or DDR2 and DDR3 for the newer PC's but however your computer is configured the memory type must comply, if your PC is DDR1 type and you purchased DDR2 type they will conflict, check the old memory card and make sure you bought the right type, all memory cards indicate there cloak speed and the memory type. Also make sure the memory stick is the right speed (Megahertz)... What type of computer do you own? What year did you purchase it?

OK the Memory card you purchased is 266MHZ DDR PC2100 I just checked right now.... Make sure these numbers comply with your old memory card, If not, that is your problem.
