I read it. I liked it. I dont know how much is true but the truth is always in the middle. I was in Folsom when he was there. A real trouble maker. The kind of guy that is always stirring up shit. Well he was the kind of guy, Im sure age and reality have changed that to some degree.
Re: KODY "MONSTER" SCOTT's book who read it what d
I really enjoyed Sanyika's book. It was very well written with lots of description. I have read other books about crips and bloods but nothing compares to his... I loved Monster when I head it once but I read it agian for school and im on the last chapter... When you read it more than ocne you start to really understand it more....

I'm from Toronto canada and I live in a area where you have some little fools that call themselves crips they are trying to be something that they are not and I think that it would do some of these fool some good to read this book so that they can see that this gangbanging shit is no joke this book is real and yes some things maybe off but I'm sure there is alot of truth to it to.

“MONSTER” WAS THE BEST GANG-RELATED BOOK I’VE READ…EVEN BETTER THAN “UPRISING”…

You can do a search on the site and read opposing views on whether all the facts are even true or not and also some info on what he is like today because of all that.

It was a good book. I thought Monster was real smart and thought he could have done other things with his life.

Just read it and admit it held me 'till the end - couldn't put it down, I'm in England and we're just begining to get the Gang culture really take hold over here, it started about the mid 80's and is now entrenched in a couple of cities - though it's not Bloods and Crips.
Wanted to get an idea of what US gangs were about, I've got 'Do Or Die' on my 'to do' pile - will take the advice of the poster who sugests doing a search here to get the ins and outs of the book - can anyone sugest any other books that are worth reading?
Thanks
Shadow

Re: KODY "MONSTER" SCOTT's book who read it what d
yea, i read the book and it was pretty nice. He definitely provided good explanations for a lot of problems and detailed his experiences, however, I tend to think he might have overexaggerated his importance and impact in the Eight Tray Sixties war... also, I've heard some rebuttals at his version of how things went down and how other ppl say things really went down... even if he inflated his truths a lil bit, I still think it was a good read.

The book was real, and it gives u an inside look at the inside of monsters life, if u never lived the life u would have a better understanding about life in a gang, and life from behind the walls. For all those who read it u know what i'm talking sbout and those who haven't pick it and see what you've missed.

how they say it went down if it didnt go down like he said...where can I peep that info folk?MRxCLOUDYxLOC wrote: also, I've heard some rebuttals at his version of how things went down and how other ppl say things really went down... even if he inflated his truths a lil bit, I still think it was a good read.
I think the book was very informative and probably pretty close to the truth. I do trip out however because on here and in other forums Monster Cody is "much respected" I have found the opposite to be true when talking with 8 trey's regarding him and the book and even other sets ALL calling him a buster and a rat. They say there are people doin life sentences behind his book. And he is no longer welcomed or respected in the hood.
