Three Shot At Baltimore City Chinese Restaurant

(AP) Baltimore, MD WJZ has learned of a three-person shooting at a restaurant on Clifton Avenue in Baltimore City.

Emergency officials were called to the China Garden restuarant in the 3400 block of Clifton Avenue, after reports of a multi-person shooting went out Monday afternoon.

Two juvenile males and one adult female were shot inside the restaurant. Medical officials said the woman was hit in the left thigh.

One of the males was shot in the side while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the back.

All three injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. There is no word yet on any arrests or motives in the shooting.

Police are still investigating the crime scene and WJZ will update this developing story as soon as more information is made available.

Baltimore police were investigating today the city's first homicide of the year.

Leon Nelson, 17, of the 2900 block of Winchester St. died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center about 9:30 p.m. New Year's Day.

Nelson and a friend were picking up food at the China Garden carryout restaurant in West Baltimore around 6:30 p.m. when a gunman entered and opened fire, according to police and friends of the victim.

Nelson and two others were struck. Police did not release the names of the other victims. One was another 17-year-old, who was struck in the right hip. The other was a 22-year-old China Garden employee. She was struck in the left thigh and was not seriously injured.

The two males were taken to Shock Trauma. The woman was treated at Sinai Hospital.

Police said that the store was not robbed during the incident and have no suspects.
