There was so much in this detailing the history of gangs I have to watch it again. What had me was how in the beginning Cle insists that poverty had nothing to do with at least him joining a gang, but when the author of the book in which he got the title of the documentary from, asked him that if he (Cle) were to build a factory with union jobs right in Athens Park, and hire the entire gang, would that put an end to the gang being violent and drug dealing? Cle's short answer: Yes.

BROWN ENCOURAGED HIM TO GO TO COLLEGE AND STUDY FILM. HE WAS ALSO A PRODUCTION ASSISTANT. BONE SAID, "I SPENT SO MUCH TIME ON THE MOVIE SET, I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO BANG." BONE WAS COMPENSATED HANDSOMELY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY ALSO. IF THOSE BLACK MEN FOUND A WAY TO OCCUPY THEIR TIME WITH SOMETHING THEY ENJOYED DOING, THEY WOULD EVENTUALLY LEAVE THE GANGS. but then when he starts to talk about the carjackings i started to think that the blacks are the real ones doin carjackings not the hispanics, the hispanics are more about hot wiring a car while the blacks while carjack and maybe kill the one inside the car just to take it, really the surenos and latin gangs of Los Angeles are gonna take over cause they deal with mexican cartels while bloods and crips only get left the crumbs.
