Alprentice " Bunchy " Carter story

Postby Cereal_II » September 20th, 2003, 2:22 pm

He was the leader of THE SLAUSONS ( 5000 member gang), the called him " The Mayor of the Ghetto ", and he committed armed robbery and because of it he was sentenced to 4 years in Soledad prison. He became a muslim and a follower of Malcolm X. When the BPP started he became the leader of its LA chapter, and its said the US members killed him, because they were the other black political party, and FBI got them in the fight, endin in his murder and another of his comrade in UCLA campus when they were security for Black Students Union courses in UCLA.

I think this BPP thang should have continued.

Keep it real, dawgz !!

The eventually fell apart of your post it doesnt match with what J. Edgar Hoover said of being the BPP a problem that could hurt national security, and the need of finishing with it. And if take a look at all the scandals involvin CIA and FBI, like the invention of crack, and all conspirations made in south american governments, u can give a chance to say that FBI focused on finishin with the BPP, by frontin them with The United Slaves organization.

That's what I meant with all the things that happened - infiltration by the FBI and the other things you mentioned.

There are 2 books I would recommend to read up more on the FBI's war against the BPP.

The COINTELPRO Papers, Vol. 1
Ward Churchill, Jim Vander Wall

and

COINTELPRO Continues: The Plot Thickens
Arlene Lois Johnson

There are also writings by Elaine Brown that tell alot of the story as well. Educate your minds.

Read "Agents of Repression" 1990, by Ward Churchill, Jim Vander Wall. That book has a picture of Bunchy Carter and discusses COINTELPRO in much detail.

Bunchy Carter is much more respected and known for his life in the BPP than his life in street gangs. I think it MUST be that way because he was a very respectable guy.

By the way, many former BPP members have big problems with the so called New Black Panther Party and have said they are doing more to HURT the legacy of the original Black Panther Party than to HELP it. The Huey P. Newton Foundation made a offical statement saying they had no ties with the NBPP and they should not be considered as respresenting the original BPP.

the Slausons existed before there was a such thing as the Crips. The Slausons started about 1952 and lasted up to 1965.
