If you are really serious about being successful in life, you need to start associating with people that are successful in life. Unfortunately many gang members end up in prison, if released (Felons) or dead. So the question I'm asking you is Do you really need that? If you have children, do they need that.

I'm glad your open minded and you can accept alternative view points, that's avery ggod trait, so I compliment you on that.

I'm sure you are more comfortable with kickin it with people in your hood, that's what I meant by "Birds of a feather", not sayin' it as a bad thing, but it is to your advantage to venture out and collect new information. That's the only way you are going to grow. The hood will offeryou a certain amount of knowledge, the rest (which you need badly) you'll have to venture else where. Don't misunderstand me by thinking I'm saying abandon your friends. Never never do that, but understand that most are probably not going to surpass that corner in the hood.
I speak to a few G's in their 30's and 40's, and many of them sing "If I had to do it over again. These G's didn't have any alternative view points thrown at them, everyone they was hanging with was biting off the same info.

Life is care free for you know, but it may change over night "guilty by association". I hope you are not going to be one of the older G's singing that same tired song " If only I could do it again. I see young women come and go throught the gangs..only to end up nearly the same. There is nothing new to what you are doing, just a different face and a different name. Even the nick names start to recycle before you know it. So don't allow yourself to be another african american statistic. You can change your future and your family's future right now. You can have what ever you want in life ..if you are willing to sacrifice your time and put in the work, and it will be work.
It's easier to claim a set and run with a crew. Not much prerequisites. Hooking yourself up indefinetly is the challenge of a life time. Not many in the hood are willing to go there...unfortunately. Help bring the hood up, be a outstanding citizen, don't be part of the problem, don't be what our senior citizens despise when they venture out and watch youngs kids and young adults not doing nothing constructive or positive with their lives. Don't continiue pathological lifestyles that you inherited from other family members and neighbors. Don't be a follower. Be a trend setter. Be original. Do something no one has ever done in your family. Give your cousins something to look up to and say "I want to be just like her. Do you know how important that is for young girls. Make your own move under your own flag.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE AND KONVERSATION CS. I ONLY HAVE 1 MORE THING TO ADD. I ALREADY FEEL LIKE IM DIFFERENT B'KAUSE MY 9 YEARS BEING IN A GANGS IVE WORKED, GRADUATED H.S. AND KOLLEGE, SO I ALREADY FEEL LIKE IM DIFFERENT AND MAKIN MY LIFE INTO A POSITIVE ALONG SIDE BEING IN A GANG. BUT THANKS AGAIN.

Not to offend anyone...it can be touchy.....but for the most part, the "initiation" to a gang is different for girls......and that has a lot to do with the amount of respect a girl gets when she's in.....whether she was jumped in by the guys, the girls, or she mmm slept her way into a gang..... I'd like to know what the ladies have to say on this....and just general comments......
