Yo Jones, Apache was writing for Queen Latifah. Big Daddy Kane wrote for Roxanne Shante from the Juice Crew. Herby Luv Bug wrote Salt 'N' Pepa's lyrics. Rage and Lauryn are the only two women I know who could rap that wrote their lyrics.

Jean Grae is alright. She writes her lyrics, but she is more like heavy lyricist. You listen to her, but the songs are kind of boring. Actually, Free from 106 & Park can rap and she can also sing. She sounds like a guy though, when she raps. You can hear her on Canibus' first song on his first album.

Hey Yung Z, check the credits of Foxy Browns first album. Jay-Z wrote at least half her album. She then had other Ghost writers after the split. If you say Jay-Z don't write, then who wrote Still D.R.E, because Jay-Z wrote it. If you don't believe me, check the history books.

Oh yeah, Jermaine Dupri wrote a lot of the Brat's lyrics as well.
