All four of my grandparents came from Dublin, Ireland.
My Dad's father was 19 when he met my grandmother. She was a middle class girl, who was moving to America with her mom in 1940. My grandpa, being in love with her, wanted to go with. But he had a criminal record in Ireland which stopped him from being able to come here. So he snuck on the ship with my grandma. Jumped off the boat in New York and enlisted in the army to go to WW2. He came back and married her. Then had my dad and his 5 brothers. My Mom's parents came to America in 1944.
