There was a lot of talk about that, but no one ever released solid numbers to show that the Season 7 DVD sold more then the previous releases in the same period of time. There's no doubt that Season 7 sold a lot of copies, it was released a month before Christmas, so the racist outburst didn't HURT sales, but there hasn't been solid proof of it helping sales either.
