Simply put, black folks racial status have been determined based on the fact that they have african genes, and are apart of the african-american culture.

Again, I realize that whites created this system, but it doesn't mean that this system has been a negative for us, for in the end, there is power in numbers.

Furthermore, black folks in Africa, the Caribbean, or even those black folks in Europe, will consider black folks who are mixed with european ancestry, or other, or just half european and half african, as BEING BLACK! The only folks that are having problems with this position, in recent years, are african-americans, because they have been influenced by the white media, and other sundry sources, to question their blackness, and what qualifies and quantifies, as someone being black, so as to divide and conquer, and decimate our numbers.

This is one of the reasons why you have such a large "latino" population, in the sense that you have folks from different races, cultures and ethnicities, whether they be the whitest of the white, like Christina Aguillera, or the blackest of the black, like Sammy Sosa. Why? Because they realize that in numbers, you have power. So what they decide to do is unite under one common denominator-THEIR SPANISH HERITAGE, so as to gain social clout and political power.
