Organized crime in Nordic countries

Unread post by punamusta » May 30th, 2007, 11:26 am

As I cannot post to the "International gangs" section for some reason, I decided to put this topic here.

This is a topic to talk about organized crime gangs/syndicates in Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland). It's a known fact that any of these countries don't have any real streetgangs, so let's talk about only organized crime gangs/syndicates.

I can start by listing the organized crime groups from Finland that I know of. We have here about 80-90 different organized crime gangs (total amount of members is something over 1000), but most of them are unknown. That means they exist and are active, but don't keep too much noise of their existence as it always hurt their business.

So here's the gangs/syndicates I know of:

- NBK (Natural Born Killers, has some kind of connections at least with turkish criminals groups in Sweden)
- MORE (Me Olemme Rikollisten Eliittiä, in english that means "we are the elite of the criminals" -> MORE is a type of an umbrella organization for the leaders of the most potential criminal groups here)
- Lepakot (in english "Bats")
- Rogues Gallery
- RAS (Radical Action Syndicate -> has members atleast in Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Netherland)

Criminal MC clubs:

- Cannonball MC (offered to join HA, but didn't want to - after that has had beefs with HA, but is way stronger than HA in here or Sweden)
- Hell's Angels MC
- Bandidos MC
- Diablos MC
- Klan MC (has chapters in Finland & Estonia, has friendship with Bandidos MC)
- Gang MC
- several support clubs

Besides these Russian and Estonian mafias operates in Finland with Finnish criminal groups.

Now how about other Nordic countries? I've heard about FFL (F*cked For Life) in Sweden, what is their history and status there?

I forgot to say that members of MC gangs here are, I'd say 99% Finnish, but other non-biker gangs/syndicates has mostly Finnish members, but also Estonian and Russian. That's because most of the criminal gangs here are created in prisons and especially Estonian prisoners get along well with Finnish prisoners.

And because of the rapid rise of the criminal gangs and the fact that so many gangs are formed in prisons we have here some prisons that are basically runned by gangs. If you don't belong to any respected gang, there's a big risk to get into a lot of troubles and get bossed around by gang members.

Apparently RAS has members also in Denmark. RAS is a very low-profile gang that has separate sections for drug related crimes, big scale robberies, etc. Even Finnish police cannot estimate how many members RAS has, but it's sure that they won't let in any "toys". According to one of RAS ex-member they even organize training camps for their members where they teach how to use different kinds of explosives, etc. Teachers are professional soldiers.

That ex-member called RAS a "paramilitar gang"... So RAS is a very serious crime syndicate who's members aren't even allowed to commit crimes under the name of RAS. That's how they keep it very low-profile. There sure is more of gangs/syndicates like RAS in Finland, but because of their need to stay very low-profile it's impossible to say how many these kind of gangs we have here.

On todays newspaper there was an article of how Finnish criminal organizations have taken the drug trafficing back to their own hands from the Russian and Estonian mafias.

In the past especially Russian mafias had a Finland's drug scene (smuggling & distribution) on a stronghold, but now it's runned by Finnish syndicates. One of the reasons for that is that especially Russian criminals don't want to get caught in Finland as in Finnish prisons Russians don't really get respect like that. I'd say that more than 90% of Russian criminals serving time here are located in closed cell blocks where they are separated from the other prisoners. Those ill-feelings towards Russians is based on the history as Finns were in war with Russia in WW2...

Other reason is that Finnish criminal syndicates have got a lot stronger in the past few years, and have a good range of international connections. What I've understood is that Finnish criminal organizations have a good reputation abroad. Finnish gang members are (and have been) used as hitmen in several occasions here in Finland and abroad by foreign criminal organizations. As I said earlier especially NBK has done things like that for the Turkish gangs in Sweden. Couple of years ago they ordered a NBK member to kill the head of the Albanian mafia in Sweden and he did that.

Some gang members from certain gangs here have good connections to Turks in Sweden as many Finnish criminals have either been living in Sweden (lot of Finnish immigrants there and some statistics say that even 2/3 of the Sweden's prisoners are Finns or have a Finnish background) or been serving time there. And Turks and Finns used to live in the same immigrant areas in Sweden.

I also read week ago how two most gang-struck prisons here will built new maximun security blocks for gang members so that gangs could be separated from the other prisoners to avoid the gangs from recruiting new members. They also try to cut down the drug trafficing into the prisons by that.

Here's some english article I found of the Finnish biker gangs. There's also shortly about Rogues Gallery which isn't a biker gang.

There are various gangs in the nordic countries. In Sweden for example there are FFL (Fucked for life, although their members "may" just be around 20 to 30, a well known "leader" is Daniel Maiorana http://img.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/0511/14/dm_2.jpg ), O.G. (Original gangsters), "Juggemaffian", Wolfpack, Albanligan, and Naserligan, the members of those are mostly immigrants (latinos, many arabs and many from eastern Europe). There are also various biker gangs (that does not mean that all of them drive bikes.... ) such as Hells Angels, Bandidos, X-Team (easiest to get into), and Outlaws. Those with "restaurants", various shops and people in general get forced to pay a montly tax to them. The "bikergangs" are the biggest, but there are also various international mafias, Estonian and Russian and many criminals are not connected in some sort of "gang".

As in all countries, you recruit members where you can, in the suburbs. :)

Nah, Albanian Mafia is unheard here in Finland. They don't have ANY pull here. During the 90's and early 2000, Russian and Estonian mafias used to run drug scene here, but nowadays it's Finnish crime syndicates that run drug business in Finland.

And few years ago Albanian mafia head was gunned down in Sweden and it was a Finnish gangster who did that.

Albanians might be some factor somewhere, but in here they aren't.

shut the fuck up where you think the Finnish mafia gets there drugs? If you say they get it themselevs then your a fucking idiot. All drugs come through Albania to Europe, period. There is Albanian boss's everywhere and where they are THEY sell it and tell any nationality to fuck off. If theere is not a high Albanian population in a country they might let some Finnish or Russian crew sell it for them but thats it you guys are not a factor in Europe. the 15 Families in Albania are reporting to be "the biggest gang in history"

There isn't such thing as a Finnish mafia. And it depends where Finns get the drugs. Cocaine is usually from Netherlands or Spain (imported from Columbia). Heroine comes via Russia (markets for heroine isn't that big here..). Amphetamine (main drug in here) also comes from Russia - or Estonia. Or it's made in Finland. Cannabis (meaning hash) comes from Russia, Estonia, Spain, Netherlands, Marocco, etc.

I've heard that Albanian mafia operates in Sweden and some other countries, but in Finland they don't exist.

Ok there dickhead calm down, first off, colombians come to Albanians to import cocaine, thats a fact. They have been cutting off alot of peolpe over the years because Albanians can import it easier then anyone else because there is no cops or border patrol or anything there so the Colombians dont have to worry about losing a shipment with albanians. Heroing coming from west asia to afgan to produce it, to turkey to turn the opium to heroin and brough to Albania to sell it off, facts are factcs, you people are giving ideas or opinions unless your sure dont post on here.

People really don't use heroin and cocaine here that much, so it really doesn't even matter if Albanians get theirs from that somewhere down on the line. Most money here is made out of amphetamine. And the fact still is that Albanian mafia don't exist in Finland.

I'm reading an interesting book about Finnish underworld during 1955-2005 and there's some interesting stories there told by ex-criminals and cops...

Sweden's drug scene was completelly runned by Finns during 60's, 70's, and 80's. First Finns went there to sell spirits, but soon turned into drug dealers, distributors and importers. At the best times there where over 100 Finns selling illegal spirits and drugs at and around Sergel (main square in Stockholm) and other nationalities had no business to go there. If there where other than Finns selling, they either robbed them or killed them.

Finns first got hold of Sweden's drug scene by sending couple of nuts there who walked to one of the most known Swedish dealer and stabbed him (leaving him alive) and told him to spread the word that Finns have come to town.

Finns also had very powerful weapons in use like tommy-guns and such that they kept with them always, and a lot of people got killed for snitching or any other way harming their business there. They also sold drugs at the hall of Stockholm's main police station as according to them it was the last place police would think people would sell drugs at.

Finns mostly sold amphetamine in Sweden as it was very expensive there, but cheap in Finland. Finns imported amphetamine to Sweden thousands of kilos per year. Finnish man called Kosti Kartiokari was at that time the godfather of drug business in Nordic countries.

Thought I'd update this a little. Just read that Sweden has about 50 different organized crime groups/gangs. Finland has about 80-90. If someone would find the stats of Norway's and Denmark's numbers, I would preciate that.

From what I've read it seems that in Norway, Sweden and Denmark criminal groups (other than bikers) are mostly immigrant based. In Finland instead all the organized crime gangs are based on Finns, although including some Russian and Estonian members. Don't know why it's so different in Finland than other Nordic countries.

I really don't see that happening. Finland is different than Scandinavia. Finns do business mostly with Estonians.

But I believe that Albanian mobs are hard, but the way people here are advertising them is comical.

It's not that much Albanians from Albania in Finland, but instead quite a lot of Kosovo's Albanians. But from my point of view it seems very hard for any mob to run Finland. People here don't like to do business with foreigners, except Estonians who are same Finno-Ugrian people than us. Russians used to do some bigger scale drug smuggling into Finland, but after a while Finns decided to do that by themselves as Russians, because of the history, are very much hated by a lot of Finns. I personally like Slavic people, but most of the Finns hate Slavs and especially Russians... And if Russians didn't succeed in here, I doubt the Albanians wouldn't either. Finns are stubborn people who like to stick with their own.

True. We have less immigrants here than Scandinavian countries. But we also have a different kind of mentality here and 2-3 times higher violent crime rate than Scandinavian countries. I'd say it's way harder (not impossible, but harder) for outsiders to come here and establish some kind of criminal business than it is in Scandinavian countries. We have more gangs here, plus as I said, the mentality of Finns is different. Finns actually like to fight and we have a hundreds of years old tradition in using knives in fights. Plus we have a loads of guns here (7/10 people have a gun or guns), don't know how it is in Scandinavian countries...

And that is not to say that Finns would be particularly hard. No. Just explaining how Finland differs from Scandinavian countries that all have some foreign mafia on top of the game. Although one of the reasons might be what you said, that Finland is geograficly speaking pretty isolated. But then again, we're right next to Russia.

Yes, Scandinavian countries, and Finland also, are rather peaceful countries. Although we have relatively lot violent crimes here, it's still kinda rare to get into troubles if you don't want to get into troubles. The biggest problem here is without a doubt the alcohol - not gangs. Alcohol is the number one reason for our violence and the most common cause of the dead as unbeliavable as it may sound.

And yea, I've heard that former Yugoslavian countries are pretty peaceful, also. Atleast far more peaceful than what their reputation is. I heard that Zagreb is one of the most safest cities in Europe at the night time, what do you think? I know that Zagreb is in Serbia, but maybe you know something about that?

Oh, and how has it been in Bosna after the war? I'd like to visit Sarajevo some day. My mother has been there and she liked the city a lot. But that was before the war, don't know how much it has changed after that...

Here's a site that has different vests and logos that some Finnish biker gangs have. Not all of those vests are criminal biker gang's vests, but the ones that are (and are not) are pretty easy to spot - such as Gospel MC, Bitch Bites Back MC, Pink Cats MC, and such, hahah. Not all criminal biker gangs here have the 1%er patch. Not even HA. But the criminal ones are still pretty easy to spot......

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and its pretty peacfull we dont have street gangs in ex yugoslavia only mafia and organized kriminal groups, every thing is corupt speciely Serbia and Bosnia, every thing is pretty profesionel, there aint so meny fights, but shutouts plenty. Serajevo is the place to be right know, You have your Albanians rund by Naser Keljmendi and Muhammed gasi, then your Bosnians Ismet "Celo" bajramovic(muslim)..then you have your serbs dont know there names...and then you have your Sandzaklije(muslim people that live on the border of serbia and montenegro they are either serbian og montenegro citizens) one big mix up...Now Beograd wich is capital of Serbia is seperated i clans like mafia...the last don of Beograd is considerd to be Kristijan Golubovic... I would say this is subjektiv view on things...That Sarajevo and Beograd are the citiz with the biggest crime rate on the west balkans and ofcourse Albania and kosovo
