I don't think making more laws is going to solve any problems.

If you want to fix the welfare situation (or any problem, for that matter), you have to research it, first. Do you think that the reason most people are on welfare because they can't get a job because of out sourcing? I don't really know enough about this, but what kind of jobs are getting outsourced?

Personally, I want less laws. Id rather see the government effectively maintain the law the laws that are current rather than add more. I'd have an easier time talking about what I think should be made legal (or at least decriminalized).

That said, I'm looking forward to Houston's smoking ban expanding to bars later this year, but I wonder what it's going to do to some of the hookah bars around town.

Just because I don't agree with something or I think it's morally wrong doesn't mean it has to be illegal. I've seen study after study that shows that men get more aggressive after watching pornography. I don't think porn should be illegal for that reason, though.

I make my own personal choices. I'd like to be allowed to make my own choices. Whether that means I get to choose to to smoke a joint in the privacy of my home or whether or not I choose to marry someone of the same sex or whether or not I choose to end my own life. It's my damn choice.

I'm going to assume you don't have children, so don't take what I'm about to say to heart...unless you are a parent then listen up. I hate when parents say stuff like "I don't know how to control my child" or "I just let them do what they want, it's easier" Wow, just fuckin wow. Kids will act up, especially between the ages of 2-4 when they're really understanding things and trying to communicate to other people, and other people might not understand what they want. They get frustrated easy. Regardless, my child rarely acts up in public or at home, and if she does she knows at this age what the consequences are. Children test the limts of what a parent will and won't let them do. It's the parents JOB to show their child those limits and call them on it. I don't understand parents that act like parenting a child is hard. It's your fucking kid, you wanted it, you deal with it. I don't get parents who think it's funny when a child swears, or throws stuff, or acts like an ass. You don't need to beat your child to get them to listen but you don't need to baby your child and let them think they're the centre of the universe. Sorry, I just get upset when I see parents not parenting.

Well....the smoking ban just started here July the 1st....which means no smoking in any bar, pub, club etc. I smoke 'roll up's' (hand rolling tobacco) when out having a drink and am finding it very fucccin horrible not being able to smoke a rolly whenever I please...but at the same time, I'm down with it beacuse its better for my health, because I'm too lazy to keep popping outside for a smoke now.
