Word Associations and Etymologies Among Other Fallacies

Unread post by MiChuhSuh » July 23rd, 2007, 8:50 pm

Of all the scams people can pull, this is one of the lowest ways of tricking people since it directly targets ignorance. People who believe their own language is universal (mostly Americans) and who have very little understanding of languages and cultures outside of their own are the most vulnerable to this form of fallacy.

Examples:

- Hours comes from Horus.
- Satan comes from Set-en

- Calling Jesus the "Son of God" associates him with the Egyptian sun god because "son" and "sun" sound similar (it's like they're not even trying on this one).

- Clarence X13 saying that Allah means Arm Leg Leg Arm Head (only works in English; absolute rubbish in Arabic)
- Here's on one of my favorite ones - Asiatic Blackman - “Asia” is the body; “attic:lol: is the mind, “black” is a dominant force, and “man” is the higher intelligence so Asiatic Blackman means that black people are the higher, dominant, and more intelligent force both physically and mentally. This one is particularly ignorant since it targets English speaking people with only English associatons.
- C or Cee - to "see" is to have insight. Again only with English.
I don't want to pick on NGE alone so I will stop with that, but they have many issues like that.

There are many other examples. Just look at the video at the bottom.

And it's not just etymologies. For example, saying Bush is demonic because he puts up the Texas Longhorns sign.

When someone claim something involving other cultures (even in the same country) and especially other languages, research it before you mindlessly accept it. And not from people trying to push an agenda - be smart about your sources. For your own sake.

It's amusing that the next video says "research it yourself" to demonstrate confidence. Clearly he understands the laziness of people in doing their own research and how credible it makes him sound.

There are too many to name but an example is December 23. It is un-Christian in terms of Jesus' birth, it was added by followers of another religion and was banned for period of time. He also slanders several other religions along with Christianity to try to push his agenda, including Islam and Muhammad.

You've been studying. I might have to chime in here on this subject. Congrats. You've reached a new level MiChuhSuh. Progress to the next level.

I might have to point you in that direction. You deserve it.

You mean like the word ‘Sub-Saharan Africa’
There really is no such word or region as SUB-SAHARAN Africans! Sub-Saharan Africa is a racist byword that has been inherited by the victims of European imperialism and normalized into African language and reality. A word that moves, jumps and slides around to suit negative generalization of Africa!

Also ‘mixed people’ is a very nebulous concept.

If DNA sequences tell us that black African populations are the oldest and migrated all over the world, thus the original African were black, the original Asians were black, the original Native Americans and Australians, and even Europeans were black. Than what exactly is being mixed when a black man gets with a female in one of these sub-groups?

Instead of mixing isn’t he (the black man) just assimilating, taking back what was originally in him to begin with??

Yes!

"Sub-saharan Africa" is a false conception invented by European racialist who wanted to make claims that only white people were civilized, and tried to explain any black achievements as being "mixed with whites." It is a completely ignorant and arbitrary border which in reality does not mark a real separation.

As far as mixing there is no such thing as mixing because all living humans are within the same race, homo sapien sapien. Good post Tre; finally can agree with you on something (no sarcasm.)

Yes. That was around 2 years ago. People grow and learn more everyday. I don't know if I supported that idea back then, but I do not condone it now. I am relatively young and in college so of course my knowledge will expand every year.
