this is what i dont get . how come Varrios like Palmas , HorseShoe and maybe WS Mob have and are still around after many years .. but how come Varrios LIke VNH , VSJ , 12st and a couple of other faded away ? what did Palmas , VHS ect have that these didnt ?

Maybe because Palmas is connected? + what Bassettsgv said. WS Mob and Horseshoe have been fading too but I think they are still there. I think it was a combination of things... The ex-Mayor Susan Hammer kick started the gang injunctions-neighborhood clean-ups, including the graffiti writers + the Homies arent keeping the varrios alive of whatever reasons. but truthfully, I cant pin point why these varrios faded and EHP~VHS~WSM havent I pretty sure VHS is the oldest varrio and WSM is one of the oldest, so they got more numbers then the NS Varrios did, but VNH did have 3 or 4 generations, the exact reason why VNH faded away

the homie from VST that lives here in Kollmar drive told me that back in the days it was hectic , he said surenos in the early 90's were really small in numbers only a few active varrios VST* VTL* ESC13* SSP* .. he said nortenos back then were always tryna run them out by doing drive bys and shit like that . he said us youngsters have it alot easier than he when he was young and banging ..

Maybe Alviso became it's own town? I always thought VSJ started in ESSJ. Maybe VSJ set up varrios in NSSJ & ESSJ around the same time. I don't even know if they're in ESSJ any more.

It still seems to be considered it's own town. What flea market did you go to? Man, I feel like getting back to talking about the tagger scene? Do you remember MOF? They used to have funk with a bunch of writers.

Yeah, it's possible VSJ had two varrios around the same time in the NS&ES but it seems that the Northside would be the first and main one.

It was the Captiol Flea Market I saw him and I use to hangout with the same neighborhood kids as him for the time, but he's older. them VSJ dudes are like in their mid 30's, now.

I remember SJG being around in 1996, where I think they first started & were still around a lil' while back. A girl I talked to from NSSJ a while back, kind of made it seem like VNS were still around a little. I know they seemed to be dying out a while back. Didn't they also use the initials BNS? I know 12 st had some older heads then me, but they still could been only 1 generation. I'm thinking VPT was probably from around those areas you mentioned to, but I don't know much about them.

Well if I remember correctly... in 96' VNH was still around the neighborhood, 12St was and VSJ was also still around and even ABH [Aztec Brotherhood~Party Crew/XIV] I think. so, I think SJG were coming up in 96' maybe the other varrios gave them a pass. I think SJG really didnt kick off until VNH~VSJ faded off the scene. yeah, also it's definitely possible for some of those Homies from all these varrios to around in the NS, maybe some of the Nortenos I'm seeing are from those old varrios? as far as any of these varrios hanging out and putting in work like it was back then... No.

It's definitely VNS and I think it stand for "Varrio Northside" I cant figure out if the VNS I'm seeing nowadays has ties to the old varrio? again VNS has been gone for about 15 years.

They DTN foolios were claiming the neutral spot in Downtown back in 95-96' on 1st/2nd and Santa Clara St and I know none of them that I saw were from Downtown's NS, closest to that area. they werent pushing any weight back then and only lasted maybe a couple for years, before Susan Hammer put the curfew/no loitering law effect. The real Nortenos didnt like DTN for that reason, it was neutral grounds. In fact, I was told a VNH homie cleared that up. I really doubt any DTN'ers got into SJG, but give it the benefit of the doubt. Their so-called leaders Negro was a Brotha and Speedy from Alviso

I was told VNS merged into VNH around to early to mid 90's, maybe I'm wrong? I can honestly say I've not seen any VNS strike up for years until recently.

A lot of Nortenos didn't like DTN just running around DT & claiming it, but also for how they were organized & the way some members were. Some fools told me they got out of DTN & then got into 1 of the SJG's that was around at the time, & it might have been the SJ Gangsters 1. ^ Yeah. that "Negro" was a Brotha. there was another Negro I met a real dark Chicano from NSSJ. alway, DTN threw a sign at my friend's light blue Regal and the ABH/XIVER dude riding shotgun got out of the car and straighten that out "No Surenos here." DTN would walk up and down 1st to 7th and Santa Clara St <----around the 1st St block, I think Negro was a only one that could stay out after curfew from DTN "funny style" <ROTFLMAO> BGT at that time. I think SJG were mostly youngsters coming up just after VNH established their last generation. the one homie I know I think got into SJG after VNH was fading. for some reason, he never officially got into VNH although he would kickback and do dirt with them and was from the heart of that varrio.

Yeah, I guess the youngsters nowadays could be calling it BNS. The merge I think was VNS~VNH but that would put those youngsters back then at Peter Burnett at this time at about 25 and I think it involved their older Brothers because it would put them at about early to mid 30's. I pretty sure it was VNS that merged into VNH, but if it was another varrio, I cant figure out where VNS was for all those years among those NS varrios and is this nowadays VNS a coincidence?

pistolslanga, I think that Hayward varrio is a coincidence, but again, I'll give it the benefit the doubt, I've never seen VNS put 14 after the varrio initials.

Also, I think VNH has been in hiatus in need of a new generation, something along the lines of VHS. there are still quite a few Nortenos around there but not like it back then. maybe because of the Sureno numbers nowadays in San Jose, the older Homies are kick starting these inactive Norteno varrios

my homie from VST said that they still hold ground in the South Side on 7 trees , he says VLT (Poco Way) SSP and Clantone were the only real sureno hoods holding it down in the early 90's .. he told me about an incident that happened in Poco Way St in 96 where a Norteno got killed there by a sureno from PW.. after that he said Poco Way received hell from Nortenos like crazy .. about WS Clantone he said they were crazy ass riders in the mid 90's that they had VHS on their knees , then alot of WSC13 homies got locked up and VHS WS MOB started moppin them , they killed a couple of WSC homies , Stranger , Grifo , Crazy , Munchy , Sapo and Looney .... i'll post some ol skool pics of VST homies in the 80's ..
