Native Americans are too ignored, the ones still on reservations are still 100% affected by what happened to them but they are such a small minority that most people just overlook their problems.

Well its easy to get over something thats very very very minimum compared to other. ANd Indian get dough and stay getting money from this country.

The following figures are from the 2005 American Community Survey, and include the household population only, which totalled 288,378,137, or 97% of the U.S. population at the time. People living in institutions, college dormitories, and other group quarters are not included. Per the survey, the U.S. population's racial distribution in 2005 was as follows:
* White alone: 74.7% or about 215.3 million
* Black or African American alone: 12.1% or 35.0 million
* Asian American alone: 4.3% or 12.5 million,
* American Indian or Alaska Native alone: 0.8% or 2.4 million
* Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander alone: 0.1% or 0.4 million
* Some other race alone: 6% or 17.3 million
* Two or more races 1.9% or 5.6 million
Each of the above categories includes people who identify their ethnicity as Hispanic or Latino. U.S. federal law defines Hispanic or Latino as any person with ancestry from a Latin American country or Spain, regardless of race.
* Hispanic or Latino of any race: 14.5% or about 41.9 million.

Since we are talking about the US i would have to agree. But thats not necessarily the case in the rest of the world.

I wouldn't even say English had it easy. At least not lower class. They may have settled in America first but those who came were more or less a science experiment for the higher class. They were sent with limited supplies, no knowledge of the "New World", told to trade with the natives who they knew nothing about and stuffed on boats ripe with disease. A lot of lower class English paid a hefty toll to try to develop in the new world. The higher class english shat on the lower class to fatten their pockets. Once that lower class took hold and basically became higher class they in turn shat all over the natives in turn to fatten their own pockets. And the cycle continues to this day.
A huge reason the Native Americans have such a small voice is because frankly they were murdered off a long time ago. Those that survived were more or less bought out by the government. That excuse lasts to this day "Shut up, we paid you off already." Here in Canada we're taught about the internment camps for the Japanese, we're taught about the Natives that were slaughtered, those that fought back, those Europeans that fought along side them. We're taught about the treaties, about the Catholic schools that took Natives from their homes in hopes of converting them and giving them a Christian life (a better life if you ask the Catholics). Most of these events turned out tragic, especially for the Natives. We're taught these things in the hopes of learning from them. That doesn't make things better, and I'm not saying we don't have a racial problem up here but realizing the mistakes made is a big step in fixing the problem.
I think ignoring problems, sugar coating problems, or just twisting the truth to make the fat cats look better will solve nothing. I think this is a large part of America's problem is the inability or refusal to accept the fact HUGE mistakes were made in the past and present.

classcism will always be the worst problem, but racism has become its own seperate monster, sometimes subverting classcism. This is why those marginalized English (early Americans) acted as they did towards Natives, Irish, Africans, and such.

My post was here all of like 45 seconds before you responded. I don't even know how you read that and responded so quick.
I'm not sure I follow your response. Are you saying the early English acted with classism with a hint of racism, or vice versa? I believe the very first settlers, those lower class English were acting as they were told by the rich back home. They attempted to trade with the locals and when that didn't really go as planned the rich basically said "We'll send re-enforcements, just wipe them out." though Old World diseases played a big role in that too. I don't think the initially settlers had racism or classism in mind seeing as they were on the bottom of the pile too. I'd agree it got to Classism with hints of racism early on against the natives when money started playing a role. The new english were working with natives for quite some time creating the new world tabacco to send back home, once the rich back home wanted to get richer, shit hit the fan in America. I believe it had more to do with class then it did race but both did play major roles.
I always feel that language plays a role too. That barrier is tough to break and misunderstandings can happen very easily. The settlers traded and worked with the natives of America early on, being accepted into the natives tribes and what not. It didn't take long for the settlers to misunderstand traditions and certain rules before they started pissing off the Natives.
