Kids in Buffalo don't even run inside the house anymore when they hear gunshots on the block.
They are so immune to it they just keep playing hop scotch and drawing on the sidewalk with chalk.....
No different than NYC...

In my city if you hear gun shots no one cares either. That's because most people think someone shot a moose or a wolf or something to that affect.

I actually agree with you, it would cut out a lot of confusion.
Major American cities should do that across the board.
Instead of rating the entire city, do it by sections. Do it by neighborhoods....

If you do that, you're splitting hairs. The sole purpose is to give the public a general idea. I'd be willing to bet all those stats are on record you just have to find them yourself. Back in Edmonton we had crime stats broken down to each individual neighborhood, we're talking sub-sections of areas no more then 5 city blocks big. So precise that you could find out how many types of Honda Civics from 1994 were stolen in Richfield in 2002 between the months of January and April. It's all there if you want to look it up, it's just of no use to make all those records published in the local news because it's overkill.

And Im sure there are LAPD officers that would respond to a murder call every day. You should have a talk with the LA county coroners officer and see how safe LA is.... lmao
You keep forgetting theres a difference between tenements in single family neighborhoods.
If LA had tenements Im sure their murder rate would be a lot higher than New York City's....

What in the HELL are you talking about? It makes absolutely zero sense.
I'm admitting nothing, no I do not work for the FBI. Yes, I did work for NYPD and am disgruntled by some of their negative behavior. I know nothing about the corruption of NYPD, it was a rumor going around the city and the officers. Whether this is true is not to be determined by me. Do I think it is a corrupt department? Yes, in a way. Did I get discpatched to murders every day? No, nobody does. It just seems like a city like New York would have more murders than 500, which actually is a lot when you think about it. New York has more nutcases than any city in America, other than Chicago, my third favorite city.
I am proud that everybody thinks New York is safe, but I'm here to tell you it's not. I've been browsing this site fora while before I registered and it shocked me that so many people are here saying "New York is soft." New York is not soft at all, grow up. Any city with 500+ murders is not soft. Get a grip.

New York neighborhoods are safer than neighborhoods in the most dangerous cities in America.
Get over it.
There might be a handful of NYC neighborhoods that rival the most dangerous cities but that's about it, just a handful.
LA is no different.
Both are major cities and both suffer the same problems.
I dont care how much college you have. You need a reality check and a CAT scan if you think high crime neighborhoods are somehow safer in LA than NY.
You admit that the FBI are the ones who actually compile the crime reports.
Not some "random guy off yahoo" as you put it.
Correct?

I know the FBI does these things, but the stats are given to them by the police departments, then a journalist will write articles on it and sometimes twist the real stats up and make them somewhat false.

People clown on New Yorkers because they are sick and tired of New Yorkers acting like they are from the worst place on the planet when its not true.
People are sick of their uppity ass attitudes too.
I know 15 year olds from Niagara Falls that would have put a bullet in the head of the most hardened criminal from NYC. And I live in a small city with a moderate crime rate.
You can get bodied in any city in America. Inner city America is the same no matter where you go.
