Meeting a Grape Street in Irvington NJ

I have a Cuzzin originally from Far Roccaway NY now from White Plains who is "81st Grape Street" :the Grape Street set in Far Rocc NYC. He'd like me to go with him to Irvington NJ to meet one or more of the Grape Streets there. My grandparents lived in Irvington so I'm pretty familiar with the town, even with it's recent changes. Most of Irvington is "Crip City" these days, but I'm wondering if someone can tell me what area of Crip Turf in Irvington would likely be the most receptive to our visit? The area around Schley St / Valley Fair? The Crescent Lane area? Irivington Center (New St at Springfield Ave) or the Hyatt Projects? He's 20, an blacc. I'm 47 and White, SSCC from Long Island NY. I'm not a cop, and whenever I join a new forum it usually takes me three months before people trust me. So... I'm up on Loc history (I know who Paul Jones and Vertice Swan are) we don't have knowledge we have history, we don't stacc our set we just "Hit up" and we sure as hell don't have "codes". And as for "Queen Sheba"? that's Folk stuff. Bonnie is Tookie's wife and she ain't no "Queen Sheba". Yes I can give DAP but only with my right hand.

So this SSCC Loc and my Grape Street Cuzzin wanna meet some Loc in Irvington. Where might be the best place?

Irvington is definately Crip City. But Irvington probably got put on by them Newark Grape Street which is actually on Grape Street in Newark. i doubt they connect with the Grape Street Watts kause they been six starring it since forever. but they hella deep in Newark. It sounds like it would be safer for us to approach the Grape Street Loc in Newark than the 103 Grape Streets in Irvington who are 100% Loc. My 81st Grape St. Cuzzin hasn't gotten back to me so I think he may be ChiCCening out. But I still want to meet the Grapes in Irvington. I might just go to Irvington Center alone and seek one out and start up a conversation. Hell, maybe I should just go over to where my grandparents lived 183 Columbia Ave off 16th Ave and talk with whatever Loc are there. If I'm LuCCy, maybe the new residents of 183 Columbia Ave will be out and might let me into their home to compare what was then to what is now.

I visited Irvington today, the 2nd anniversary of Tookie's execution. Sleet and freezing rain. I visited Valley Fair. Nothing has changed in 40+years and the snack bar still has excellent Pizza! I almost connected with a couple of "mature" Loc there but my timing was off. Visited Irvington Center. Wanted to take a photo to "Crip Zone" on the wall of "Value Zone" on the Corner of Nye Ave and Springfield Ave but there were too many people waiting for the bus. But I did take a few pics and posted them on my Myspace page.

I still want to meet a Loc from Irvington.

I didn't answer your question as to who that homie was (cuzzin?) because you didn't answer MY question about Loc history which isn't a difficult one. But I spoke with my OG (who was SSCC in the 1970's) and my crew and they didn't know who Cappuccino was. But one of the crew said he heard that name connected to Orlando Anderson, though we know that the story about Anderson and Tupac aint true.

My OG is an OOOG. If he doesn't know abot Cappuccino, then Cappuccino aint worth knowing about.

Irvington is in NJ, right next to Newark. And the 103 Grape Streets moved into Irvington a few years ago and Irvington is their turf.

As for "Cappuccino" I contacted a Grape Street that I know about him. He said "heard of Cappuccino once talkin to my OG (Yada) but he didnt say anything crazy important about him.

Since I'm older I'm able to connect with the mature Loc out here that you young un's don't realize exist.
