info on NM

Postby Anonymous20 » June 20th, 2005, 3:20 pm

check this out about New Mexico

----------------

In Albuquerque, alone, there are 90 documented gangs and approximately
8,000
gang members; 18,000 in Bernalillo County, alone. The numbers reported
by
the APD Gang Unit are for those individuals who have "Gang files"
within the
Albuquerque Police Department. This number does not reflect the amount
for
gang members without a "file". However, APD reports that those numbers
would triple. Gang members in New Mexico continue to be as young as 8
and
up to 35 years of age. Many gang members sell drugs daily. Gang
members in
New Mexico reported earning about $1,000 per week from only 30
customers,
while nongang youths earned about $675 per week, based on an estimated
80
customers. NM gang members sell more expesive and profitable drugs and
are
better connected to nonlocal sources than nongang drug traffickers.

Why an increase in gang members. Lax laws.

The NM Fatality Review, an ongoing retrospective surveillance study
which
examines the circumstances that contribute to the deaths of infants,
children and youth in New Mexico, reports that most shootings and
deaths
among gang youth are a result of drug deals gone badly or a rival gang
trying to take over drug territory. The report indicates that drugs
and
alcohol continue to play a role in youth committing violent offenses
and/or
crimes being committed while under the influence of some type of
substance.

According to the Albuquerque Journal-12-5-04; New Mexico has hundreds
of
gangs and thousands of gang members. State officials say there are 300
documented gangs and more than 6,500 members statewide. Gang violence
continues to tear at New Mexico cities, and now the state's smaller
communities as well. Included in all of this are turf wars, drive-by
shootings, and drug-related multiple murders. Clovis, NM is dealing
with
three times its ususal number of homicides this year, more than half
the
killings have been gang-related. In Roswell, NM, the number of
drive-by
shootings into homes or cars exceeded 100 for the year and continues to
climb. A gangster guned down a rival in the front yard of a home in
Deming,
NM, in the middle of the afternoon.

The 2005 New Mexico legislature approved, unanimously, to increase
prison
sentences for gang-related crimes.

Governor Richardson's proposal to the legislature for a battle plan
that
would make it illegal for people to recruit gang members or to
retaliate
against a person who has left a criminal gang, passed. The New Mexico
Gang
Task Force has been restored.

The New Mexico Sheriff and Police Athletic League has partnered with a
Coalition of State PALS, including California, New Jersey and Floriday,
to
implement a gang prevention-intervention program that will impact
approximetely 7,000 kids in all four states. The program start date is
projected for June of 2006.

I have lived here since 91, and I have failed to really see any blood or crip gangs here. I would saw that the Chicanos are definelty running the shit out here when it comes to gangs. I put that. i lived in Cali before I moved here in 91. Ganges here are tight. They will take care of their own and each other. I see alot of 18 Streeters ( freinds with many of them) , some Latin Kings, San Jo, SNM, and MS-13.

Si mon, this is a pretty good list

EIGHTEEN STREET (BRANCHES: WESTSIDE 18ST, SOUTHSIDE 18ST HARPER 18ST, TINY WINOS, LOCOS, ASSASSINS)
SURENOS (SOUTHSIDE)
SAN JO (EASTSIDE & SOUTHSIDE)
30'S (CRIPS)
40'S (CRIPS)
60'S (CRIPS)
14TH STREET (NORTHSIDE)
BHP (BALD HEADED PHELONS -AKA- 21ST)
WEST GATE (98ST)
YOUNG LORDS
SM (BRANCH OFF THE MEXICAN MAFIA)
LCL (LOS CARNALE LOCOS)
LXP (LOS PADILLAS)
WSO (WESTSIDE OUTLAWS)
TCK (THUGS CAUSING CHAOS)
BREW TOWN
BARALENOS
B13 (BARRELAS 13ST)
SVL (SOUTH VALLEY LOCOS)
NVL (NORTH VALLET LOCOS)
WSL (WEST SIDE LOCOS)
SSL (SOUTHSIDE LOCOS)
ESL (EASTSIDE LOCOS)
MARTINEZ TOWN
NORTENOS

But I wonder, yo. I've only seen WSL bang, I don't know about any of those other Loco gangs, if they even exist or if they are allied with one another.

All I know is, Gold St. Locos (a.k.a Gold Street Pharaohs, Gold Street Kings) as of now is not allied with WSL, despite the similar name. Gold St, for those of y'all who don't know, hold down Gold St., Silver Hill, Brick light district and some of the UNM area. Hard, but not totally psycho putos like you get in some of these gangs.

Plus I've never heard of

NO SLEEP CLICK
BROWN RIDE
BROWN BY HONOR
LAY LOW
ROLLERZ ONLY
UNIVERSALY CONNECTED CLICK
BCO (BURQUE CITY OUTLAWS)
TINKER TOWN (ALL GIRL GANG)
MM (MINORITY MILITA)

Do they still bang, and if so, what are their colors?
