Im confused do people consider people who are "Rednecks" to be automatically racist?
Does the word redneck mean racism?
Does redneck describe all the people who live the rural life?
Are you redneckish?

Like in the glorious world of stereotypes what does redneck mean to you?

I grew up outside the city and i consider myself more redneck then a cityslicker. Where i come from redneck would imply your more of a bushman then a city slicker. But ive heard it can mean different things like being racist towards blacks and stuff. Which is weird i think, how does living outside the city make your racist?

Not all rednecks are racist. I work with a redneck (he's proud of it) but we get a lot well. Rednecks are just people who live in rural area (mostly the South).

The ones I've known weren't that racist but they always took racial issues involving whites personally, like the Reginald Denny beating.

-well i know some "visable minorties"quite well and to them im the bushman.

-my buddy from ghana will be in the store dressed like a player, then theres me jeans, some crappy shirt, and a ripped black and red checkered jacket lol.

-its led to some commical situations, one of my ex gf said that my buddy and i were the odd couple cause we looked so different.

-or when im just driving around with my "visable minority" buddies smoking weed and visiting people they dont mind listening to my rock music once in awhile lol. Its funny white person in shot gun wearing a hunting jacket in a car full of blacks and natives listening to rock music lol. Megadeth, peace sells!!!! yea!!

-ive been told that its cool i didnt change my style or personality into that of a wigger when i became friends with some black people. Its just made for some funny situations. They always said they respect me for who iam and not for trying to be a wigger. its actually funny when other black people have there wigger bitch friends over i get more respect then them for just being there.... lol

From my personal experience I wouldnt say that all persons either calling themselves or stereotyped rednecks are racist but the majority of them have been. And many are just very dl about it.
