These numbers don't really make sense. L.A has one of the worst crime rates in the U.S. Maybe Milwaukee has a higher rate but those aren't gang related at all. I think this raph is off because there are WAY more than 112,000 people in North Las Vegas, and about 1.7 million people IN the city of Las Vegas. On top of that, the graph says we have more murder, rape, and assualt crimes than Milwaukee....=p)

The Las Vegas population is no where near 1.7 million. It is 478,434. You are way off. As for North Las Vegas, it has a population of 115,488, and it's not WAY more than that. Oh and Las Vegas has violence but is nothing compared to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee had 165 homicides in 1990, 168 in 1991, 153 in 1992, and 164 in 1993, those were the years I was out and about and kicking it, and I can tell you majority was gang related.

You also highlighted the lowest record year of homicides in Milwaukeee since 1989, it's been over 100 a year since 1989 till 2009. Also the population of Las Vegas-Metro and North-1,600,000 is nearly three times that of Milwaukee-600,000. I highlighted the highest years of Homicides in Milwaukee at 165.

Well for that year Las Vegas did, and I asked you what about all the other years I highlighted-1990-1993 in the other post? Was that Vegas's highest year of homicides? Whats is the average there? What;s the highest and lowest in the last 20 years??
I have said the average in Milwaukee is over 100 since 1989-2007, and has been as high as 165, and the lowest is the 72 you mentioned. So yea if you pick and choose what numbers you want to compare your always going to win-lol
I think the original challenge was just North Las Vegas, but as people have said this is an old arguement and you can't really compare the two since overall Vegas has three times as many people as Milwaukee.
Finally I dont think anyone should get joy at their city being the most violent and worst place to live.

Vegas and Milwaukee have virtually the same population though Vegas metro area is almost doubles that of Milwaukee's, didn't realize Milwaukee had that many killings. I guess the economy isn't the greatest there in the middle west.

Economy's been bad here for like 30 years and all the companies moved out the city, so no jobs. But that's only part of the problem, it's one of the most segregated big cities in the country, with the majority city populaiton being people of color. The police have also been known to racial profile, and have killed alot of young men controversially. Too many kids born to single mothers living at or below poverty level, and add to all this the Milwaukee Public school system is very bad.

This happens all over the place. Migrant workers come from Central and South America to work the fields as well.

No factory jobs here left, most of the big factories left in the 80s-90s. Most Mexicans from Mexico seem to work in the restaraunt industy here now, or housekeeping.
But unemployment is very high right now, even if you got college degrees you can't find jobs here right now....is it like this everywhere else too??
