I guess people got tired of pulling for him after 13 years and no championships. But on another note, many of the analyst and announcers are low key hating on him... if you pay attention they make comments such as , "Denver will be a better team now with Billups", "Billups stabilized the Pistons team", "Billups was realy the leader on the Pistons," "Now the Nuggets have a leader, someone who has a championship"..

If somehow the Pistons win the East you will hear all of those comentators kissing up to Iverson and flip the script on Billups... if the Pistons don't do well I believe Iverson will be a free agent and will try to get to L.A., Boston, Cleveland, or somewhere likely to win a championship by 2011.

Been a Pistons fan since 1988...back with the bad boyz...I'm also a big fan of AI...but Billups was the heart and soul of our team...Sheed and Rip do way to much yelling at the refs...My boy TP doesnt have leader qualities...and hate to say it Stuckey seems to be a little fragile...but to give up Mr. Big Shot for "the answer"...he can't keep any point guard in the league in front of him...and doesn't run a set play to well...too much dribbling...

I think the trade was equally good for both teams... but what I like about Iverson being on the pistons is when they have a scoring droubt AI will come throuh...

The Lakers were bound to lose... i'm not surprised the Pistons beat them, any good defensive team will make the Lakers look mediocre... they all stand around waiting for Kobe to take over.. - Kobe can't score so great against good defensive teams.. Gasol was over matched by Sheed & Odom went back to being O-dumb!

damn allhood u ain gota dump on odom like that lolol..O-dumb haha

your actually right, when everybody else was gettin stopped the lakers just didnt do nothing, it seems to me they work off runs, and being hott.

the pistons played outstanding basketball to me, iverson made the team more up tempo ( from the last time i sow the pistons play that was proly a year ago)
iverson created alot of shots for himself..and tysean prince is not who i sow a year ago this dude stepped the fuck up....Pistons are looking better to me ...it was good for both because iverson didnt go with anthony i always knew that mix wasnt good....

im routing for the pistons

The Lakers have the BEST record in the NBA as of tonight, with both Boston and Cleveland losing.

The Lakers beat Boston at home and Portland on the road, that is huge as far as measuring ths years team at this point in the season.

how can Sasha Vujacic enters the game for Trevor Ariza 87-89 twice. And why is there a rebound between free throw attempts?

^Sasha entered the game @ 86-88 then 87-88 for offensive- Trevor came in both times for defense; Sasha shoots better, Trevor defends better.

Gasol was at the free throw line when he missed the first of two free throws so it shows up n the box score as a Laker rebound because they mantain possession for the 2nd free throw attempt.

Did you see that tiebreaking jumper Kobe made with only 3 seconds left!!! Yea, my Lakers stepping it up improving their home record now 19-2. It’s also good to see Kobe discard those high volume shots, and instead pick his spots! No doubt, Kobe’s on fire! Let’s just hope our reigning MVP doesn’t burn himself out before the finals get here though!

The lakers got it this year. Andrew Bynum is back, hes an all star caliber center and Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are two of the best players in the world. Lamar Odom and Derek Fisher are good and they have 2 great 3 point shooters. And theyre much more tougher physically this year than they were last year. Theyre actually too good i think. I would rather see Kobe be a scorer. They could do without Bynum or Gasol.

Lakers are looking nasty right now...

Kobe is acting like his old self and the rest of the team looked lackluster...

Whats up with Bynum?? This cat has all but disappeared and looks like a big oaf out there...

If and only if the Lakers can take out the Rockets, the Nuggs are going to give them a hard time...

PLUS, the Cavs are on fire and this is the year LeBron cements his name and his legacy for a first of MANY championships...

I dont think the lakers can beat the Cavs but I think they can beat Mellow and them..

They will beat the Rockets... but you're right.. Bynum and company (Ariza, Fisher, Gasol, Walton) are no shows. But worst of all is Phil Jackson, he's horrible!

Shannon Brown needs to get more minutes.. Kobe will be aiight.

But somebody besides Odom needs to crash the boards and someone needs to play defense. Standing around the basket watching the Rockets drive and make lay-ups isn't gonna get it!

and Battier- is anyone sticking him???

Yea I like Shannon Brown...

I thought Farmar was set to replace D. Fisher and then Brown comes along and he is more explosive and athletic, dude will get a nice contract from someone b/c of what he is showing...

And yea, "D" has been non-existent, rebounds are non-existent, and who knows what Phil is doing...

I just hope the Lakers have a better showing on Tues...

You know what was interesting. In the post game show Magic Johnson was saying how the Lakers NEEDED to win Sunday, it was a MUST win for them. He talked about how on fire Denver and Cleveland are and when you are in the playoffs you need to keep pace w/ teams that are hot...

He said thats how the old Showtime Lakers mentality was. When they saw Boston or Detroit thump a team, they wanted to keep pace and send a message to them...

I think it was a big mistake NOT beating the Rockets...

Sure they might win the series but confidence and feeling invincible is a big momentum during the playoffs...

The Lakers talk like they are hungry but they are not showing it...

And honestly, if they dont win it this year, I dont think they are going to win it ever again...

LeBron has barely started to find his groove and this cat is going to be the next Jordan...

Kobe is getting older and who knows what Phil is going to due, heck he may even want to coach LeBron...

Woh, pump ypur breaks. ^ If the Lakers don't win it this year it doesn't mean Shannon Brown can't start next year, and it doesn't mean they can't acquire a much tougher and better defender than some of the soft personalities they have on the team. They could also land a six man that contributes much more consitency. But other than that, I agree with you- we are entering LeBrons era and his team may be there the next several years. I think Bostons run is over... Pierce, Allen, Garnett contracts will be up soon.

Now you also have to consider LeBron leaving Cleveland. He may go to New York like the many rumors have suggested. i don't know how much winning or losing this years championship factors into that but he is a huge part of this years Cavaliers success and it appears he can do it elsewhere also.

I also agree that Kobe Bryant is much slower, and not as enthuised as before. If Kobe leaves, then i'd agree the Lakers chances of winning anytime soon doesnt look good until they restructure the entire team. For years they have put bad- shooters on the court and now that they have some good shooters they are soft and still dont play any defense. I think Phil spends too much time worrying about the Triangle Offense and his soft defensive players don't want to foul out the game. Besdies their IQ's seem very questionable at times. Odom, Fisher, Gasol, Bynum, and Walton make some of the stupidest, untimely and weakest fouls in the NBA. You can throw Vujacic and Farmar in there every once and awhile also.

I won't be surprised when rumors about Kobe Bryant wanting to play for the Knicks surface either. Notice no venue cheers for him as much as Madison Square Garden. Kobe likes that attention and appreciation and knowing his selfish azz he'd like to beat LeBron there and play against the current superstars in the NBA- which are in the East. The West has gotten rather boring and old except for Brandon Roy.

Wow, I never really thought of Kobe opting out and heading East...

He has a HUGE ego and he does thrive on playing against the best...

You are right about the West falling behind...

Dirk, Kidd, Duncan, etc are getting older and much less appealing...

Roy is nice and Melo is alright...

I HATE walton and I think Lamar doesnt use his full potential...

Lamar reminds me of Robert Horry, shows signs of being a star and then disappears...

Lets just hope Kobe starts trusting his teammates and they jell like they were doing during the season...

Kobe can't start trusting his teammates now, they continously let him down. He needs to do like he did in game 2, come out firing.

He was dishing the ball out to Ariza but he was missing shots. He was throwing inside to Odom and Gasol and they were missing lay-ups. Fisher was driving in and missing layups and he's shooting terribly from beyond the arc.

I am not a fan of Odom but he was taking care of business last game, he was on the boards repeatedly. If he plays like that, Kobe and Ariza will be more enthuised on the offensive end. I think they'll be alright against Houston.. I can't see Artest, Battier, and Brooks shooting lights outs two more games.

The best thing that happened to the Rockets was Yao Ming went down. He slowed them up on offense and he gave away too many easy rebounds, steals. Yao appears weak, and laxidasical. He is slow getting down court. Now with Brooks running the show Scola, Battier, Artest etc can get down court and take the quick shot instead of waiting on Yao and then run the offense through him.

On another note, Orlando was playing much faster and better without Superman. I think the big center is a little overrated in the curent era. Even Garnett makes his living on the outside on offense, not the inside.

Yea, nice observations...

Yao better retire b/c all those foot, leg, toe, heel, etc are a result of him being so big and constantly abusing his joints...

I dont think the Rockets can continue to shoot like that either...

But I am still wondering whether Kobe can carry this team. I agree that the Triangle gets lost in space and seems a little boring at times BUT I feel Kobe plays his best ball when he trusts his teammates...But then again, his teammates have to knock down them shots...

I just wish Kobe would carry his team like LeBron does. Points, assists, have fun w/ the guys, etc...

LeBron is a stat machine. He plays much harder, and sort of smarter than Kobe. LeBron makes better passes than Kobe thats why he gets more assist, and he's bigger and taller thats why he gets more rebounds.

Kobe is not gettin the support !
other than Gasol and Odom,Bynum too even tho he aint back ballin like was b4
its like alot of role players, from drafts or trades, but where is the impact
give me some grizzled vets for 1 year that can come of the bench for 10-15 minutes of production
seems like its gonna be ruff road to the promise land
but its still Lakers on mine

nah i think Lebron is more like Scottie Pippen if Pippen had the body of a freakish man-beast.
its funny watching dudes trying to guard him cuz they stay with the aggy face on lol.
hes the SF equvilant to a 00-04 Shaq.
technique-wise dudes may be good enough to guard him but since hes so much better then dudes physically he just styles on'em
