Re: Rollin 60 N-Hood Crip (westside)
Dear Alonso--
I would like to take this oppotunity to "THANK YOU" for the wonderful work that you do in Los Angeles County and the "tireless" effort you have invested in our youth. You have constructed a mass amount of information on this website and it is fascinating.
I grew up in the mean streets of South Central Los Angeles in the early nineteen eighties and early ninties. Most of the names that you have posted brought tears to my eyes. I knew at 50 - 60 young men whose names appear on the list.
I attended Washington Preparatory High School and graduated in 1986 from Crenshaw High School, okay, so I almost fell out when I began to read the names of these young men, whom I KNEW and went to school with. I was never in a gang or hung out with gang members, but I had to have some contact with them in class, walking to and home from school.
I feel compelled to write this because, as a youth, growing up in South Central Los Angeles. There was a time that I was paralyzed with FEAR. Fear that sometimes wakes me from my sleep. during my youth, I never believed that I would make out of the 'hood alive. Innocent people were being shot and killed everyday. I grew up when crack cocaine was in full supply and demand. I cannot convey to you the profound impact that gang violence has had on my life and still continues to have on my life. Even though I am in my mid-thirties and have moved on to live a better life. I have flashbacks. Here's why:
1. Marock-was my former classmate in 1985 at a well known junior high school. He was a pleasant young guy, who smiled and joked alot. I was devastated when I learned that he had been murdered. I still remember his bright smile. He was a crack up!
2. Mumbles-was a bit older than myself, but I remember him very well. We attended the same junior high school. I was really young when he passed, so I didn't learn what had happened until after he was buried.
3. Boscoe-was in my homeroom. I never knew that he was dead. I graduated from junior high in 1983, that was the last time that I can remember seeing him. I always wondered what happened to him. But you solved that mystery by posting his name on this website, and the sad part is that he's been dead since 1993! Wow!!! I learned about this eleven years after it happened. I though maybe he got caught up in somethin' and went to pen. Too sad...
4. Keystone-I knew him from way back too! I knew him at his worst and at his best. From all outer appearances, he seemed to be in the process of changing his life. He was trying to do positive things. I learned of his murder in the Los Angels Times.
5. BabyBone-He was a youngster compared to me. I met him in junior high too. He was an underclassmen and a pretty boy. He made himself known to everyone in school, especially the young ladies. Us older girls thought that he was a cute 12 year old kid. You see, that's how old he was back then. I'm talkin' way back to 1985-86'. He disappeared for awhile, and it was rumored that he was in CYA. I never saw or heard of him again, until I read your list. Too, too sad...
6. O.G. Hollis--I haven't been quite right since I read his name yesterday. He was older than myself. If he had lived, he would be about thirty-eight years old. He was fourteen, or fifteen when he was killed. I remember returning to school from summer break and the news of his death was spreading all over campus. I just sat in my woodshop class and cried. I thought that he had gone on to high school, but instead, he went to the grave. I never got the full story of what happened to him. His death definitely stood out in my mind. I believe that's when I realized that people kill people. For the record, his name was Hollis Givens. He was my older, former schoolmate.
7. Lil Weasal--OMG!!! I can't contain my emotions. THIS WAS MY FRIEND! I ran into him at a local food joint the day before he was killed. I was profoundly sad and devastated when my friend called me and told me that "MICHAEL" was killed. This was in the summer of 1986. He had a huge funeral. Lot's and lot's of people. I will always remember him.
8. BabyFee--That crazy Cox boy. He was in three of my junior high school classes.
10.Poochie--To sad to mention. Just too sad...
11. TinyKenbone-I never expeceted this to happen to him. Never! I knew his as William.
You see Alonso, this site is IMPORTANT!!! Otherwise these people would have been forgotten. No matter what set/gang or clique you are from, if you matter. I look at it like this, YOU ARE SOMEONES CHILD! I am not the kind of person who forgets. I remember. It seemed like every week, I was losing one of my school mates. The loss of so many human lives has taught me not to take life for granted, not even for a second. I may know more people on the list but I didn't know everyone's street name. I knew them by their real names. Some of the people that I wondered what happened to are probably on the list. As a grown woman, I still live in fear, I am VERY CAUTIOUS WHERE I GO AND WHO I TALK TO. I make an effort to stay sucka free. Being a woman isn't safe in Los Angeles. There are some gang members who care nothing about killing mothers, sisters, daughters, wives/girlfriends or aunts. These same individuals can kill and actually sleep at night. I know that mentality still lives on today. Again, you are doing a fabulous job and may god bless and keep you.

Re: Rollin 60 N-Hood Crip (westside)
What's up Mangler,
I was suprised to receive a response to my post. I grew up on 10th Avenue and 60th Streets. I knew quite a few of the original soldiers from RSC, who are now deceased. I probably know you too. *squinting at the computer monitor to take a closer look* Read
ng about how some of the homies ended up definitely hurt a females heart in the worst way. I knew Lil Looney too. What happened??? He was one of the true blue from way back in the day. Last I heard, he was in the pen.
I also knew Big U. What happened to him??? I knew "Shoe's", Slow, Wimpy, Let Loose and a few others.
I drove around over there just recetly and didn't recognize a soul. It's definitely changed over there, or either I'm just old now. LOL By the way, Poochie was my dog. I miss old Javari. Holla at me.

This is truly sad. A friend of mine who banged 60's died in 1997. I believe his set name was Ant Dogg. He name was Anthony. Was killed on Adams and Vineyard by some crack heads...

Re: Rollin 60 N-Hood Crip (westside)
Thats a long list. I recognize some of the names and knew a couple of the ones that passed away. There are three that stand out.
1. Lil' Slim, I went to high school with his girlfriend and remember hearing about it.
2. Mar Roc, When I was in high school, maybe junior high (my memory is shot, too many "Green Days" these dudes dressed up like gangsters for Halloween and one had a 60 flag with a big 60 in the middle and Mar Roc was the name on it.
3. Slugger, The Slugger I knew from playing baseball back in the day at Baldwin Hills park. He was a little dude but had skills. He was cool. I know for a minute he was from K.O.D and even though we had beef with them he remained cool with us. When I was down in Louisiana, I heard that he got killed.

I heard a Sixty was killed in Rialto on 6-10. I don't know if this is related but it is the only homicide in Rialto I found in the San Bernardino Sun.
RIALTO

A shooting at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday left one man dead, Rialto police said. Joshua Dominic Massingale, 26, of Rialto was shot at least once in the chest inside his apartment in the 400 block of West Winchester Drive.

Re: Rollin 60 N-Hood Crip (westside)
Weegie got setup by some blood females....they rumored VNG'z or Brims did it.....But I knew him personally, we called him "peg-leg" because when he was small a light poll fell on his leg and he needed it ampt'd.!!! So he walked around with a fake leg. His brother before he got killed was from NHP, after his brothers death he got put on Rollin 60's.
