The average IQ of a Sub-Saharan African hovers somewhere around the low 60's, to the mid 70's. In contrast, the average IQ of a White European is around 99/100. In many European-based countries- meaning Canada, the US, Australia, included with Europe- someone with an IQ of 65/70 would be considered mildly to moderately mentally retarded(using the Binet testing standard).

Such people, in a European/North American- Read as "White"- society, would be considered unfit to perform many common activities, be it the simple task of clothing themselves, or the much more complicated ability to live self-sufficiently. Often, people with IQ in the range mentioned above, would be required to live with the assistance of a relative in order to ensure that they can survive(for lack of a better term).

And yet, Sub-Saharan Africans have managed to etch out a fairly decent lifestyle- Of course, I mean the ability to survive without reliance of a person of higher IQ, not that S/S African living conditions or societies are decent.- in a far harsher environment than the countries mentioned above. By living independently, I mean the ability to provide food, shelter, clothing, etc- the requirements of life, without the assistance of a "helping hand".

My question is; Why do you think that the average, or even above average Sub Saharan African's have managed to thrive- and I use this word liberally- whereas people of the same IQ range in North America/Europe have not?

Some people would say that this proves that these IQ test are invalid. They're obviously not measuring the full extent of human intelligence and reasoning ability.

I don't accept IQ tests. The only thing IQ tests measure are a person's ability to do well on an IQ test. It's like measuring intelligence based on a person's ability to do a suduku or a crossword puzzle. At best all IQ tests measure are certain aspects of intelligence.

There are different types of intelligence or what Dr. Howard Gardner calls the theory of multiple intelligences. So when you speak of Sub-Sahara Africa or Africans in general don’t forget that they have more genetic variation than anyone else on the planet, meaning a higher variance of intellectual and physical abilities! Like Silencioso suggest all a IQ test can measure is a very specific type of intelligence. If the greater diversity is contained within a single group (Africans) than the smallest sample from that group can "even out" those averages.
Africa is already gifted with the shortest and the tallest people, so then the genetic variation of a African allows him to produce a smarter person above the average of whatever the norm might be at the time.
That’s why certain racist whites are always watchful for the next François Mackandal , Malcolm X, or Philip Emeagwali, because due to a black mans genetic variation he can produce from a smaller sample or pool an individual either stronger, or of greater intelligence than the average!
A good analogy here would be let’s say your average Police Officer carries a 9mm… well what good is a 9mm if 10 officers come across just 2 men carrying fully automatic rifles.

In other words if another group averages a 9mm then it only takes just one automatic to even shit out!

It's a bit of a stretch to include countries like Turkey when discussing Europe. I was referring to Europe and N.America as a whole, and I wasn't being all that specific, as you can see by the ranges I put up. Even the lowest of the numbers there are still higher than the highest of African numbers(Morocco- 85 ish). Although, Morocco is hardly a suitable country to use in this instance.

My IQ was 106 at the age of 12.

IQ tests require skills in logic but more so in mathematics, especially mathematics. My level of knowledge or use of mathematics is to it's minimum, I knew more when I was 3 years old, no joke.

So IQ tests are meaningless. Some of my friends know less math than I do, yet their level of street smarts is higher than mine or most people there, the reason they win fights or have the best girls.

On the other hand, some friends know more mathematics than some university professors in the West.

Overall, Macedonians are academically superior than people in the West because we're taught 20x more matieral in high school than American or Canadian youth who slack off for the most part while we take it seriously to heart.

Yet again, alot of Canadians and Americans have more street smarts than alot of Macedonians when it comes to enjoying the simple pleasures in life without giving a fuck what other village people think.

But overall, the amount of street smarts you'll gain here will be enough to take on the Italian mafia in New York, and fail of course.

I know this Bosnian guy in Burlington, close friend of my dad. He spent 2 years in prison in Bosnia for his activities in kafanas and street fighting with cops...
