Re: Homicide in US during 2007
how do the asian and hispanic combined murder total only add up to 345?
From gang violence alone in Cali,Nevada and Texas shouldnt the hispanic total be much higher?
lets say the 345 is a a 70/30 split between just Hispanics and Asians
thats 241 hispanic and 105 asian.
for an entire year for the whole country?
that shit just look wrong.
i ignored the unknown race slot cuz thats probably were they put the mixed people at.

Many Hispanics identify as White.

It is going to continue if the clearance rate is that low.

They did not put hispanics because it is not a race it is a ethnicity. There are Whiote Hispanics, Black Hispanics,I ndigenous Hispanics, etc.

Thats shit is completely wrong - either that or they have some weird way of classifying who is white black and something else lol
I been eagerly awaiting the interactive map on LA Homicide to become available:
http://projects.latimes.com/homicide-re ... =All+years
Its quite an informative blog, but reading the articles on all those lost lives just shows how cheap the lives of murder victims can be. Most of those victims receive little more than a few lines describing their final moments, like they are just another statistic.
The Homicide Report from the LA Times. According to this of the 2,631 homicides taking place in LA County since Jan 2007 over 1,300 victims were Latino.
Looking at the breakdown of method i would say living in a society where guns are banned is a good thing, it may not mean gun murders are non-existent but they hella lot less likely.
It says 74% of homicides are committed with a gun in LA County. You take those away and LA County Homicide rates aint much higher than western European cities.
LA County/London breakdown of method of killing:
Bluntforce - LA County 6%, London 33%
Gunshot - LA County 74%, London 12%
Other - LA County 8%, London 12%
Stabbing - LA County 10%, London 39%
Unspecified - LA County 2%, London 4%
Total Homidice (2007-2009) LA County 2,631, London 480
Average Rate: LA County 8.9, London 2.1
Exluding Gunshot, LA County 675, London 422
Average Rate Per 100,000 Exc. Gunshot, LA County 2.3, London 1.9
In my eyes that highlights the benefits of a gun free society, because gun homicide victims in London are always the intended target, no innocent bystanders and kids being killed by stray bullets, a lot fewer mistaken identity, probably a lot less domestic violence homicides here aswell cos of the gun laws.
