Blood from Los Angeles (Jungles) complains about Mexicans

These concepts are socially constructed and have been given much weight. What are your thoughts?

Does anybody know where the cholo look came from? When the B's and C's first started they they dressed like like fancy gangsters(leather jackets,Shined up dress shoes, slacks, fedoras etc)but sometime in the mid 70's they started wearing khakis, white tee's,pendletons etc.

The cholo look/style of dress derived from poverty not prison. Baggy pants were worn because parents couldn't afford to buy pants everytime their sons grew out of a particular size so they bought pants 2 sizes too big so they would last longer.

Pendletons/flannel shits were worn because in So.Cal you don't really need a winter coat, their cheap, and can be hand stiched. Don't forget these were also bought and made 2 sizes too big so they would last longer.

Khakis and white Tee's were worn because parents couldn't afford to shop at department stores and did most of their clothes shopping at surplus stores. The years following WW2 and the Korean conflict surplus stores were abundant with low priced khaki colored cloth pants and white Tee's

Chicanos added their flare to these clothes and the ganster look was born.

Blacks want to place their hand into everything when in realitry -the opposite is true.........everything outside of the New York gang culture/hip hop style/wall banging is OURS. The reason their is a WESTCOAST v. EASTCOAST rivalry is because of the extreme differences brothers have out here as compared to everywhere else in the USA. The reason that is is because of the styles they adopted from chicanos! They point to the zootsuits to get their hand in as some people who showed us the way......BULL...........The zootsuits are listed as a style popular amongst ethnic youths in years by when chicano gangs ***mind you GANGS THAT ARE STILL ACTIVE TODAY RIGHT NOW-AT THIS MOMENT -ON THIS DAY -ON THE SAME GOTDAM STREETS THEY WERE ON WHEN THEY STARTED IN THE EARLY 1900s!!!!!" ..................had been around for 30-40 years!!!!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blacks get no credit NONE. ZERO. EVERYTHING they took from chicanos and sold like some new thang we jus done heeer came up with my ninja. I have a forum detailing how widespread the stylization of chicano tattoos has come..........its a worldwide phenomenom.........worldwide. Its on every shirt /shoebox and panst coming out today. The patterns the cholo( alone with no help ) came up with are by far the biggest import of Los Angelos WORLDWIDE. Check out and pay attention to any symbol/pattern or style on any graphic T today and GUARANTEED GUARANTEED it will contain most of the cholo tattoo patterns!

Mind you a small sampling of chicano artwork! get this the japanese style is extremely distinct as well as the chicano patterns..........never used anywhere on earth besides by us...the shading/fine lines/even the plays on fonts........./the symbolism all came from a people who under oppression sought to retain something of themselves and gave themselves an artform used worldwide.

Perongregory asks "why you always competing with us" ..........bull shiznit again.................Chicanos arent competing unless of course I represent ALL CHICANOS.........I am the only one on this forum or for the fact of the matter anywhere----who ever has spoken on the subject.........other great artists say nothing /most chicanos dont know at all...........that the artwork on their hats and shirts and shoes came from their brethren who designed a style of art known worldwide..........they have no idea how much play has been taken from our artwork and how its started. I am here to remind them. I am also here to put blacks on notice ---that everything they complained about whites doing to them/ stealing their cultural nuances theyve done to chicanos.

This is an artform brought about under the worst genocidal racist machine any teenager couldve ever experienced. Lost between 2 worlds, told to submit and change everything about himself or die/essentially..........he came up with these forms of tattooing/drawing/writing/speaking/dressing/and being...............and what blacks have done is disrespected that by acting like its not the got dam truth--

Go talk to GAME and TYGA and WIZ KHALIFA about ripping off and not showing appreciation to a culture ---dont talk to me about it! Black gangbangers in L.A. never totally embraced the cholo style. They took certain aspects of it and combined it with their own style and other influences.

There was a black gang back in the 80's that's been discussed on this board called the Pozerz (PRZ). Now THOSE guys dressed cholo! Hairnets, buttoned up dress shirts, khakis, stacy adams, baseball hats with bill flipped up, some even conked their hair to get the classic cholo pompador effect. The Pozerz are an example of black people biting on th Chicano gang style. They looked nothing like your average Crip or Blood. C's and B's basically took a few items and added it to their style. They also wore stuff that no Chicano gang member in the 80's wore, like NY Yankee and Cincinat Red jackets, sneakers with thick laces (a b-boy influence), golf hats (a Crip thing), track jackets, leather coats, hood jackets. There was no mistaking a Crip or Blood for a cholo. And black gang girls did not look one iota like cholas!

I'm sure you've seen black guys from Chicano varrios like 18th or CF before. Do those guys look like Crips? Imagine a whole gang of people like that. Would they look like a Crip set? Hell no!

None the less it was embraced and not originated.

Blacks from Los Angelos are as no good as Vanilla Ice was .............they bite EVERYTHING from us and then act like it just popped outta thin air! Mind you only 1% of all blacks in the ENTIRE USA have ever lived in Los Angelos.......1 out of 100. Yet despite this they PRETEND that everything about blacks from Los Angelos isnt completely different then the beatboxing-boot-and puffy jacket Sean John-African American throughout the USA. Ive said it all before and Ive said it a million times.............THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH ----that the crips and bloods didnt appropriate EVERYTHING from chicanos EVERYTHING. There is not a one African American street gang in the ENTIRE USA--even remotely similar to the CRIPS AND BLOODS....with the graff/tatts/area code shot outs/lowriding/stacking/dress. Why they so different from 99% of all other blacks nationwide? UM ...................it doesnt take a genuis homeboy......they bit everything from us. Yet they pretend they didnt! What we do know is that that the Crips and Bloods are a nationwide black gang now.........from the South to East..........although upwards of 70% of all blacks live in the South it wasnt till blacks lived amongst chicanos that all these cultural nuances arrived--and it isnt merely the gang structure...its everything that blacks cold jacked and labeled HIP HOP and black.....such as all the inkwork and patterns these people cold jacked. Id be damned if any chicano would sport everything the Japanese people came up with without tipping their hats towards the Japanese culture( a beautiful and unique and exquisite -historic culture) like they do now! We arent that type of people.....

Femun,

I was illustrating the difference between actual black cholos (for example, black 18th Streeters or black Harpys) and Crips and Bloods to show that Crips and Bloods aren't simply black guys rocking Chicano style.

I think alot of the issues stem from drugs I believe as well as the Mexican mafia.I remembered when they put that green light out about if they saw an African American wearing some kind of color shirt to kill them on site.that happened back when I was In high school.
