Main Street Mafia Crips leader Ladell Rowles was named in a criminal complaint for directing six fellow gang members to kidnap and a rob a man of a purported Shaquille O'Neal sex tape. The victim, Robert Ross, was a former member of the street gang befriended by former Lakers center O' Neal when he changed paths to music promotion.
After Ross got into a financial dispute over being cut from a deal with rising act Ray J, who he introduced to Shaquille's record label, the offended associate threatened to release a tape of O'Neal having sex with a woman who was not his wife. Business Insider has since reported that following the pistol-whipping and $15,000 cash robbery, Ross denied existence of the tape, but claims that he had an affair with O'Neal's wife after the couple's divorce.
Main Street leader Rowles was an alleged friend of O'Neals, who is not named as a suspect inthe case. The gang members were recently arrested by the LAPD for an incident that occurred 3 years ago. Shaq retired from basketball as of June 1.
