Memphitz Arrested for Attempting to Board Plane With a Gun

Producer Mickey "Memphitz" Wright came forward about his arrest for bringing a gun to an airport in Atlanta. He was detained when TSA screeners discovered the fully-loaded pistol in his backpack on Monday. Police were called to Hatfield-Jackson International Airport. While Wright has a license to carry the weapon, it is illegal to bring firearms onto a plane.

Upon his release from custody, Wright's representatives gave the following statement: "Although [Memphitz] does have a valid license to carry the weapon, he had no intention of transporting it on the plane. In his haste to make his flight, he neglected to remove the firearm from his luggage. He has since been released and is fully cooperating with the authorities. He hopes to resolve this matter quickly."

Memphitz stars opposite his wife Toya Carter on the BET's reality show "Toya: A Family Affair."
