There will eventually. There is a huge Latino population in America that is becoming more and more political each day. Latinos are up next IMHO.

of course it's inevitable, for latinos it will be much sooner because of the growing latino population. All we'll need after that is a latino candidate with a spanish name who's a democrat and he's in, which is the sad part. How do you think Obama was elected.

May be here sooner than you think… I read an article touting Mitt Romney (if he wins) as being the first half-Hispanic President.

@MCD- I heard him say that his dad was born in Mexico in the debate. My Niece was born in Japan but she is no where near Asian. He's just using that to get the Latino Vote. His Grandparents must have been vacationing in Cancun when his Granny went into Labor. I have never met a Mexican, Puerto Rican, Dominican, El Salvadorean or any hispanic with the last name Romney. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not a name that indicates any spanish heritage?MCD wrote:His dad is from Mexico but he's not mestizo, far as I know. A Cuban republican has a good chance because the GOP wants to open its doors to other groups, and there are a lot of Cuban republicans.

You're right, I was trying to point out that his father is likely not "hispanic" or has a mix of central american indian and spanish blood, but instead he just happened to be born in Mexico.Quepolo3 wrote:

If you watch soccer this is a common thing, African players born in France, England, Germany, etc. So you could say his father is a Mexico-born man of (European) descent. But I don't even know his father's real background
