Reviving defunct gangs
I know of at leat one case in Los Angeles where a completely defunct gang was brought back - Varrio Vista 13. Are there any other examples?
Re: Reviving defunct gangs
can u elaborate on what you're calling "completely defunct"
how long where they gone? 5 years, 10 years? and who brought 'em back if they were completely defunct?
me personally - I cant see El Hoyo Soto, East Side Los, ELA Rifa, Lomita Maravilla or Soto Street coming back because all the youngsters who wanna bang gravitate towards the exisiting varrio that has taking over that whole hood
be it White Fence, King Kobras, Lopez Maravilla or KAM. in those cases, its a wrap for those old/obsolete varrios
i can only see a varrio/hood making a comeback if they're in a city somewhere off by themsleves & No other established varrio there within their immediate radius
example: I think NeighborHood 13 and Varrio Norwalk will be there 30, 40 years from now cus they got that city on lock
both NBD and VNWK have their own high schools

Re: Reviving defunct gangs
Alot of Blood and Crips gangs existed during the 50s and 60s before the Blood / Crips period. Every gang that has an "Original" on it, existed before and then went defunct and were revived during the early 1970s.
The Swamps - 1950s / 60s = Original Swamp Compton Crips
Outlaws - 1950s / 60s = East Side 20s Outlaws Bloods

Re: Reviving defunct gangs
good shit
so that would make Original Swamps and Outlaws thee oldest "active" black gangs in L.A. then
...
isnt there a few more hoods that have "Original _________" as part of their name?

I wonder why nobody brought back one of the major black gangs like Slausons, Gladiators or Businessmen. Instead of FTBrims near the Colluseam you''d have Original Gladiator Bloods or something like that.

Original Harlem Crip
Re: Reviving defunct gangs

how could I forget
Harlem God-Fathers / Original Harlem Crips / Rollin 30's Crips
they were around before the Crips began in 1969
